What it was like One Year on Hive!

According to Hive, I have been exactly 1 year on Hive.

Even after 1 year, I still don't have many followers and not following many.
Hivebuzz just notified me that I just post my 350th post, it meant I post less than a post daily within 1 year. Actually I started posting only 8 months ago. My 1st post was my report about @actifit steps.
It means I was on Hive not knowingly I was on Hive. It was Splinterlands that brought me to Hive network.
Starting from last year, I was serious about crypto currencies and researched intensively and created an account on Binance. I also search for social media for blockchain and never found Hive somehow. I was also looking for blockchain gaming started testing Alienworlds. Although I still mine TLM sometimes until today, I don't think it was real game and looking for better blockchain games. Axie Infinity was the hottest blockchain game at that time and I read about the game and concluded that it may not be the type of game I was looking for. I was looking for a decent play-to-earn game that is fun to play and most importantly sustainable.
After looking for sometime, I finally found Splinterlands. After testing for a while, I decided to buy the spellbook and started playing without buying the cards.
At the same time, I thought it would be nice if people get rewards for doing exercise and I found Actifit. In the beginning, I had problems creating an account for it. After trying so many ways, I got to know that I can use the Hive login that I got from buying spellbook for Splinterlands and started posting Actifit steps 8 months ago. I was still looking for the blockchain based social media without realizing I was using one.
At first, I used to use Hive.blog, then I found Ecency and I posted my introductory post using Ecency 6 months ago.
I spent most of my time searching and reading about Hive on Hive.blog for the first few months. After I was a bit comfortable with the Hive blockchain, I transferred some Hives from my Binance account. The highest price I paid for one Hive was about 1.3USD and average was about 1USD. The first thing I did after transferring was create liquidity pool for Hive-DEC so that I get SPS airdrops. Although I learned about impermanent loss, I thought I should try and kept adding liquidity to the pool. At the time I created liquidity pool, the price of DEC was like 0.003USD and it was the highest. After that, all prices Hive, DEC and SPS went down so that even with the SPS air drops, I still haven't recover my initial investment. I learnt impermanent loss in a hard way. Today, the price of Hive is just over 0.5USD and price of DEC is 0.00067USD, SPS once I remembered as high as 0.85USD is now well under 10 cent.
I believe Splinterlands has a good potential and kept looking for a way to earn nicely. A few seasons back, I bought several best price/CBX cards which usually make 400DEC/Day for rental on the last day of the season. Unfortunately, I made only season and later the system was changed so that that way players rent was changed that they no longer fetch high rental fees on the last few days of the season.
Anyhow, I think I understand rental behavior and hope to make something out of rental and trading market. So that I make some extra tokens apart from blogging and playing Splinterlands battle and providing liquidity. It is pretty cool that I can participate in Splinterlands Social Media Challenge and Weekly Battle Challenge and make a few tokens.


I have made over 300HP and over 23K AFIT tokens so far.
Hopefully, the 2nd year on Hive brings me better luck. A huge one :).
