I decided to purchase some packs on the market, in stead of on the site of Splinterlands. The price difference is just to big at the moment. Believe that my average purchase price was around $2.5, which is almost a 50% discount.
I do know that I could be missing out on potential airdrops. But 23 times $1,5 dies justify this call.

Of course I did wait with opening the packs until after the airdrop of SPS; so that I was at least assured of 3900 extra points for the airdrop and with my luck the cards could had lesser value in collection power.

The opening of 23 packs

Have to mention that I also did purchase enough potions to support the opening of the packs, which did cost a little bit less than $10.

The first opening did contain only 3 packs and had nothing really special in it.
The combined market value of only $3.54 says enough.
The best card was one Tarsa.

Okay let's move to the next 5 packs. A little bit better with a combined value of $9.52. The best cards in this opening were an Obsidian and a Magi of Chaos.

Still 15 to go and starting to doubt that even the packs on the market aren't really value for the money.

So the next 5 packs. With a combined value of $13 I more or less did break even on this opening. A legendary Zyvax Vuul and another Obsidian. I should also mention the Magi Necrosi, which is a great card.

Still 10 packs to go and I was already confident that the Golden Legendary wouldn't be for today.
In the next 5 packs, I did discover my first gold. A Vernari Knifer, but that was about it. A combined value of $4.78 doesn't even bring me close to break even.

Finally

So 5 packs to go, and have to admit that I did open them without any confidence.
But I was wrong, it started with a golden Pelacor Arbalest. Not to bad I think.
And then BOOOM!

There she is. The beauty!
I do hope my next one does come sooner than this!
