SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! -- Spineback Wolf
my favorite Splinter is by far the Death Splinter
in real life wolves fascinate me so Spineback Wolf was a monster i really liked from the start of the game but the use of it was not so convenient according to my game play
in low levels the card is very mediocre
if you get it leveled up though you can see the real wolf-power coming alive!
spineback wolf is a common melee attack card, its main advantage always according to my point of view is the very high agility points this beast has
we are talking about 6 agility points from LVL 1, even if you upgrade the card to lvl 10 the agility stays the same
so if you try think this the opposite way you have a lvl 10 monster's agility to a lvl 1 monster
i'm telling you this is a gift for lvl 1 Deck holders like me!
let me just say something i have in mind for some time now
i just wanna make clear that my posts refer most to newbies and not to experienced players
i know there many new comers out there who don't know ,how to get into battles etc
these users is my target group and these users i'm trying to make feel more comfortable with the game
anyone of you out there who may have questions please drop me a message and i'll be more than happy to help
now lets go back to the wolf
as i was saying he is very fast, extremely fast but he has a disadvantage
he is not so powerful lvl 1 speaking ,but at the same time consumes a lot of your mana in order to be used
he needs 5 mana points and his attack force until lvl 4 where he turns to 2 points is only 1 point
so you see because of these cons Spineback Wolf is not my first choice in a fight
'reach' ability gives him some boost but not the one to make me use him all the time
lets try see his stats on the following board
you can click on the following link to see my battle in which i used the Lone Boatman
...Spineback Wolf Battle...
the above battle didn't work for me
i can explain you though how a tried to built my deck for this fight and what was my goal
no matter if i lost the fight the strategy behind it was not so bad
first of all when i checked on my opponent before i even get to decide which Splinter to choose i saw that it was an opponent plus minus my strength , so i felt a bit confident about the outcome of the battle
the battle's only rule was Equalizer ,which means all the monsters of the field get the highest monster's life and it was a high of 28 mana points
i decided to go Death Splinter and my main strategy was to go 'FAST'
this was my perception of my opponent, i thought that if i invest in agility that would pay me off
i wanted to get monsters with average -high agility points so i can play first in each strike
i didn't care about life points cause i knew i had equalizer rule and i wanted to use my opponent's monsters to my benefit
well ,it was a nice thought but turned out to be wrong in this specific battlefield
i decided to sacrifice 5 mana points to get my Crypt Mancer as a summoner
i was looking for the -1 effect against the opponent's agility as i invested in agility in this battle
the -1 in rival melee attack monsters also thought it would be of great help
sometimes though things can go so much wrong that anything you plan may prove to be in vain!
after picking Crypt Mancer i was left with 23 mana points
it is not many points to distribute so i should proceed careful
i needed a tank for the 1st place but all tanks were mana-consuming, in this point i exploited the Equalizer rule and i will explain you how
i summoned Enchanted Defender to be my tank, yes i know this cannot be considered as a tank but listen to this
this monster has an armor of 4 ,its life maybe be only 1 hit point in lvl 1 but as i told you i exploited Equalizer rule, so my Defender transformed into a powerful tank getting the life points of the monster with the highest amount in the field
in the second place it was time for the Wolf, it is a melee attack monster but don't forget it has the 'reach' ability from lvl 1 so it can be used in the second place of the battlefield and support the whole team
in the 3rd place i chose my Screaming Bansee cause i needed to spend small amount of mana and get some considerable fighting power in return, this monster gave me this opportunity by spending only 3 mana points to get 2 magic attack power
in 4th position i put my Fallen Specter, very high agility very small mana cost, perfect choice considering the Equalizer effect as well
in the last 5th and 6th places i selected two range-attack monsters with high agility as well ,my Vampire and my precious Twisted Jester
i keep both cards in Gold Foils giving me great boost on my team combinations
so now the deck was ready to fight
my intention to keep a high agility Deck was fulfilled, i had 4 monsters out of 6 with a high agility performance plus my summoner was going to reduce the whole rival's deck by 1 agility point
i was so sure i would be the fastest on the field
i also had an attack force of a total 9 hit points which is not so bad for a lvl 1 Deck and the Equalizer rule which would skyrocket my monsters life
what else could i needed, i was so confident about my team!
- Enchanted Defender lvl 1
- Spineback Wolf lvl 1
- Screaming Bansee lvl 1
- Fallen Specter lvl 1
- Vampire lvl 3
- Twisted Jester lvl 2

as you already know i lost the battle
but what went wrong in a so well organized battle?
actually everything
first of all the summoner picked my opponent dropped 1 hit-point in my range attack monsters
this caused me 2 hit points in my total attack force reducing it from 9 to 7 points which was crucial
my summoner didn't use its -1 melee attack effect cause my opponent didn't choose to fight with any melee attack monsters...rare but it happens, and it happened to this battle
furthermore
my opponent chose only magic attack monsters so my tank's armor was no use at all,it was like it never existed
you want more? like this is not enough huh?
well i had to face Boogeyman! all my monsters lost 1 point of agility and that was another nail in the coffin!
my rival was either too skillful for me or too lucky on his team's structure picking
no matter what the reason was i suffered a loss which bothered me a bit cause i thought i had everything in place!
anyway my compliments to the opponent @rus42-bot and lets move to the next battle no time to waste
