Hey there good people of Splinterlands,
How are you all doing today?
I hope everything is going great with you all...

Conqueror Jacek, the legendary fire element summoner, is the newest and 10th airdrop card from Splinterlands that was airdropped a few weeks ago.
I was not so lucky with my 9 packs purchased and didn't win any cards.
Though this article is not about Conqueror Jacek but rather about how to defeat him, still, let's see what's this summoner offering.

Conquror Jacek Stats.png

Abilities:

+2 Speeds- All friendly monsters have +2 speeds.
Scattershot- All friendly ranged and magic attack monsters receive the scattershot ability.
Piercing- All friendly monsters receive the piercing ability.

As we can see, this summoner has some strong abilities. With +2 speeds and the 'scattershot' ability, this summoner can be a game changer in certain rulesets like 'blast'.
Also, the 'piercing' ability can be highly beneficial in the 'armored up' ruleset and/or against the following summoner Kelya Frendul, Lir Deepswimmer, Tyrus Paladium, The Peakrider, Drake of Arnak, and especially against Grandmaster Rathe.

People are hyped about the abilities of this card and it's definitely a hard-to-beat summoner, but with a perfect strategy, one can definitely defeat him.

In this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge I'll write about the strategy that helped me win against Conqueror Jacek.
I'll also share the team setup and the winning battle with you all.

So, read on...

Strategies To Win Against Conqueror Jacek

As we all know that the Conqueror Jacek is a strong summoner with some badass abilities, therefore we need some solid strategy to defeat him.
First, let's talk about beating the +2 speed advantage. You need at least two 'slow' ability monsters to debuff that speed advantage.
Alternatively, one 'slow' and one 'swiftness' ability monster may work well.
Then comes the 'scattershot' ability. We all know that that 'scattershot' ability is work with ranged and magic attack monsters only.
Therefore using one or two 'blind' ability monsters in your team will facilitate missing ranged attacks.
For magic attacks, using a 'phase' ability monster has a greater chance to miss a magic attack.
Watch the below-shared battle, where the enemy monsters missed multiple attacks on my team because I used a 'blind' ability monster in my team.
Next, the 'piercing' ability. You really can't do much against it. But if you can successfully apply the above two strategies, you sure have a greater chance to win against Conqueror Jacek.

My Strategy and Team Setup

After exploring the previous battles he played, I found that my opponent used Conqueror Jacek in all three fire element battles.
I prepared my team assuming that he will use this summoner again in this battle, and I was correct.
So, as it was a high 56 mana-cap battle, I assumed that my opponent will use the high attack cards, that's why I used the Djinn Oshannus with the 'forcefield' ability so that it can take only 1 hit from the 5+ attack.
Also, it has the 'phase' ability and a higher speed that has a chance to miss a few attacks from the enemy team.
Now, I had to make my team ready against magic and ranged attacks. For these cases, I used Ruler Of The Seas with the 'silence' ability that will reduce the magic attacks of the enemy monsters.
Next, I used Spirit Miner with the 'blind' ability that will help to miss the enemy's ranged attacks.
These two monsters further increase the speed of my team to +2 points with their 'swiftness' ability.
The next monster I used is Venari Wavesmith with its 'protect' ability that facility my team with +2 armor. Though it has no use against the 'piercing' ability, still something is better than nothing in terms of armor.
Nerissa Tridawn and Magi Of Chaos were the main two attacking monsters I used for.
So this was my final team -

Key Points Of This Battle

The first key point of this battle is the firepower of my team, it was big, gigantic.
This is why even my team missed several attacks on the enemy's tank, it only took three successful hits to take down the Coeurl Lurker.

The next key point is the 'scattershot ability of the Conqueror Jacek. It turned out a negative impact on the enemy team. Due to the 'scattershot' ability, the enemy monsters failed to attack on a single target and the attack power of the enemy team kinda spread out.
My monsters survived due to their good health point and successful strikes on the enemy team.

The third key point of this battle is the enemy used low-health monsters like the Supply Runner, Countess Sinash. If you compare it with the firepower of my monsters, it would take a single hit from Nerissa Tridawn, Ruler Of The Seas, or Magi Of Chaos to eliminate those low-health monsters, and this is what happened exactly.

The final key point of this battle is using Venari Wavesmith in my team. It provides my team +2 armor which helped my monsters further to sustain to the next round and strike on the enemy team.
In Splinterlands, we can't control what our opponent will use as his strategy or team set up. But it sure feels good when your strategy works well and brings you winning.
