It’s Time to share our Battles again! This time around with one of the coolest Splinters: the Dragon Splinter. Since they are not very common in use the task is to basically use any dragon in this game. Well, this is what we are going to do! In this article we will discuss why this particular battle was perfect for the dragon types, we will talk about possible combinations and the cards that I used to pair my dragons with. In the end we will take a look at the specific battle, that we managed to win once again!

Dragons Do What Dragons Can Do Best!

First things first, we have to talk about the dragons themselves! So what are they known for? Well for breathing fire and if you watched any Harry Potter movie or Game of Thrones episode than you would know that Dragons can also fly! Not all of them but the majority in this game has the Flying ability which makes them incredibly powerful in my opinion. Why? Well for starters they are getting harder to hit and with a high base speed these dragons are becoming very effective against Melee and Ranged attackers. Now, I like to play the dragon summoner that grants us the Phase Ability, which allows us to even dodge magic attacks!

In this specific battle we had exactly this use case. We were fighting an Earth Team which was very heavily based on the Magic attacking style. On top of that there was the Earthquake Ruleset activated. This meant that that every card that was not flying would get damaged every round! This was the reason for the specific Flying Ability choice. More specific I decided to go with the Chaos Dragon as well as the Void Dragon.

Both of them are regulars in my team and I will quickly explain why. While the Chaos Dragon is just a beast on itself with 3 magic attack, 3 speed, 10 health and 4 armor, the Void Dragon is not as strong with only 1 magic attack but with 5 speed and 7 health. While the latter is also costing us only 5 mana, the prior is costing 14. All in all very good cards that are getting even better with their Abilities of Flying as well as Void or Scatter Shot! You will see later that both Abilities will play an important role in this upcoming battle.

More Flying!

To round up our team, I decided to go with more flying monsters! Each Splinter has their own flying monsters, but since we had 42 man to spend I decided to go with the more expensive option here. The earth Splinter has some great cards to offer in every aspect of the game. This also goes for the Flying Ability. Especially Regal Peryton is a very great card to use. With its amazing 6 speed and very good 2 magic attack for a cost of just 5 mana, this card is absolutely unbeatable in terms of effectivity. It is most likely to attack first and is being missed very often due to its Flying Ability combined with the blistering speed!

Another very great choice in terms of Flying monsters in Pelacor Mercenary. For a cost of 7 mana, we are getting a monster with 3 attack, 3 speed, 10 health and 1 armor. You will not find a better tank in this price range. Proof me wrong! (I am sure there is even greater cards, but for the sake of my arguments, I have to say that! :D) On advanced levels, this card even gets the Self-Heal Ability which makes it even more incredible. I think as a tank this card will do a very great job in the upcoming battle.

Last but not least we have the Gargoya Lion. This neutral card can be played with every Splinter and has some great attributes. For 6 mana it is a little overpriced in my opinion, but the Flying Ability is definitely worth it! With the additional Void Ability this card is able to decide battles if placed correctly. In the upcoming battle, we placed this card immediately at the front to function as a puffer for the heavy attacks by our opponent which is why this card will not last long, but is definitely fulfilling its purpose here.

Example Battle

Alright, since our strategy was basically to outlast our opponent with the help of the Flying Ability, let’s see if this was successful. Spoiler Alert Of course it was, otherwise I would not post it! But let’s take a look what our opponent send into battle against us. We were facing a Magic heavy opponent but with only one Flying monster. While he will definitely do greater damage, we are choosing to use the environmental circumstances to our advantage and let nature do the rest for us! After round 2 or three we are not left with a lot of units, but so does our opponent. In the end we will outlast him due to the Void Ability since it allowed us to take less damage, the Phase Ability that allowed us to dodge some of the Magic attacks and last but not least the Scatter Shot attack. I think it was very crucial in the beginning to Snipe one of his Support Card immediately.
