Wow, we are getting new exciting challenges in Splinterlands! That is great news as the old one was getting very repetitive. With this new challenge system, the players do not have to have a particular card. Moreover, the different battle rulesets are the attention center. This is a very nice change since every ruleset has its different advantages. Therefore, the teams will vary a lot more! I am excited to see what the other guys have managed to put together and I will show you in this article what I was able to achieve with my deck in this specific ruleset. We will cover the True Aim ruleset, as well as the cards and the strategy that I chose for this particular challenge. Last but not least, we will take a look at the specific example battle. With that being said, let’s jump straight into it!

True Aim!

Let’s talk about the Aim True ruleset first. It is pretty quickly explained. Every Melee and Ranged attacker will not miss their shot! Furthermore, there is no chance of Magic attackers missing their shot either. What does this mean? Well, it means that monster with Dodge and Flying Abilities will no longer have an advantage of not being hit. Furthermore, there is no more advantage in higher speed other than your monsters going first. What I am taking from this is, that monsters with low speeds but very high attacking values are actually being favored in this specific situation. It also has to be said, that this new way of challenge has its disadvantages as well. It took me over an hour of game time to get this specific ruleset. It is not bad perse as this means there are endless combinations possible, but for this specific challenge it took me quite a while to get it.

Strategy & Cards

Anyhow, the long wait finally paid off and I was nervous as hell to send out the perfect team to win this specific challenge. So what was my thought process here? Like I mentioned before, slow and high hitting monsters are actually favored in this specific battle. This meant for me that I should find high attacking values. As we only had Water, Life, Death and Dragons to choose from, I selected the Life Splinter. The first card that came straight to my mind is the tank that we will use in the battle: Drybone Barbarian! This card is becoming one of my favorites with higher levels! Not only does this card have 10 health, it also comes with 5 melee attack! Yes the 2 speed is a little bit slow but as we just determined, it will make no difference in this specific battle. This card will just destroy our enemies with hard and precise hits. On top of that it has the Enrage Ability which even increases its striking power even more once it has taken damage. Overall, a very nice card to play in this environment.

Furthermore, I needed to think about more cards that can benefit form the specific circumstances we are in. As we will get a Ranged attack boost, I immediately thought of the good old combination between Pelacor Arbalest, Prismologist and the good old Venari Crysatlsmith. Why this combination? Well, if we are guaranteed hits, the Pelacor and the Prismologist are actually pretty good cards. With the summoner buff and their abilities taken into consideration we are able to deal 12 damage per turn with these cards. While the Arbalest is having the Double strike Ability, the Prismologist is having the Explode Ability which is also allowing us to deal additional damage.

Both cards do not have the best speed value but if they are guaranteed to hit their shot, it does not really matter too much. Furthermore, they are both being protected by our tank as good as possible. For potential Opportunity attacks, we placed a buffer in the form of our Soul Fiend and the Xenith Archer which should take out the first few potential threads while we are taking out the real threads of the opponent.

The Venari Crystalsmith is supposed to heal our tank to extend his life line as well as deal some extra damage. Yes it is only 2 more damage, but even this is sometimes enough to bring down big and heavy monsters. With 5 health this card is even able to withhold some good hits itself which makes it even more valuable in the long run.

Example Battle

Now that we covered out strategy for this battle, let’s take a look at how this battle went for us. First things first, our opponent chose the Water Splinter. This means that he will always go first since he has the higher attack values. But remember, this does not mean that he will able to doge any of our attacks. Furthermore, he chose Djinn Oshannus as his tank. Normally I would say that he has the clearly stronger line up with a great team and good positioning. The biggest thread here is without a doubt the Deeplurker that is able to delete our backline on its own if given enough time.

Well, because of the Aim True ruleset we are able to hit everyone of our hits and this paid its price by deleting their tank in the first round. Thanks to our 12 damage per turn from Arbalest and Prismologist we are able to delete his cards pretty quickly. After round 3 he is only left with one monster that is getting destroyed in round 4. All in all a very solid and deserved win due to the correct selection of monsters for the applicable ruleset.
