Once again we are faced with another Battle Mage secret. In this episode we are trying to win a battle with the Ruleset of Ferocity- To be perfectly honest, this ruleset is a very easy one for me. While I do like to use taunted cards, this ruleset is just telling you not to use them. Therefore, the outcome of the battle will also depend on what other ruleset is activated in the battle. We will take a look at the ruleset itself, then discuss the general strategy. Last but not least we will take a look at the battles that we were able to decide into our favor!

Ferocity Ruleset!

First things first, let’s discuss the Ferocity Ruleset. It basically gives every unit on the battlefield the Fury Ability. What does this mean? It means that every monster will deal double damage to all Taunted monsters on the field! If this does not sound like a warning to use Taunted cards then I do not know what is! Like mentioned in the beginning, it is not a very game changing Ruleset in terms of card selection. In my opinion the only cards that you really should not use are the Taunted ones. I also think that depending on the additional ruleset, the battle can go into different directions.

General Strategy

With that being said, the general strategy should always be to avoid using Taunted cards. I am usually a player that likes to utilize these cards because they can give you a way of steering the attacks of your opponent but in this case it is wise not to use the following cards! There are really only a few cards like these although in the past expansions the majority of them were added. My to-go card would always be the Slipspawn since it can be placed anywhere on the field and it would still be able to attack. Same goes with Iziar but unfortunately I was not able to obtain this cool Reward card yet!

Other than that, I would suggest to follow your every-day strategy. The easiest one would be to deal as much damage as possible while taking the least amount of damage. Another one would be to just outlive your opponent with more health or depending on the ruleset with the right abilities. There are literally no boundaries going from there! In the following section I will introduce two strategies with regards to the complementary ruleset that was given to us.

Example Battles

In the first battle every card that on the field would have the resurrection Ability. This is extremely valuable to use with Martyr cards because they can then trigger their effect twice! In this special occasion we are able to boost our cards extremely well and therefore win this battle in the end because our cards just dealt more damage. While our opponent had the same idea, we were able to just overrun him with our magic attacks. This could also be one strategy that I would always prefer: When in doubt just use magic!

In the second battle we were fortunate enough to get the Sneak Ruleset. If this happens, I see this as a free ticket to use Double Strike Units in the middle of my field. Since they are protected and will target the back of the opponent’s team it is a deadly weapon to strike twice. Not only will the card eliminate any armor but also have the chance to strike the opponent’s unit down in one turn! Next time you get this ruleset, you should definitely try it out. 😊
