Another week, another battle to master! This week’s challenge is the little league. Compared to others battles, this specific ruleset is heavily influencing the choice of units. In this specific case it is only allowing us to use units that are costing us 4 mana or less. With this you can get very interesting strategies and usage of units. Well, in this episode we will talk about this specific ruleset a bit more in detail, discuss the units that I decided to use and last but not least, look at an example battle that we were able to win once again. With that being said, let’s jump right into the little league!

Little League Ruleset!

Frist things first, what is this ruleset? As mentioned in the introduction, it is mainly restricting us of using monsters that are costing us more than 4 mana. So what can we take from this? The first thing is that most of the monsters that are in this range do not exceed an attacking value of 2 which translates to low damage counts per battle. What does this mean? Well, a unit with a lot of health, the Shield ability or good amount of armor is very much appreciated. Furthermore, we need to evaluate the attacking styles since Magic attacks are very powerful on this kind of level! In conclusion, this ruleset is a very cool one to play as it really allows to experiment different approaches that might be very useful in the big boy battles along the line.

Choice of Splinter & Cards!

Now that we discussed the main ideas behind this ruleset, let’s talk about the choice of Splinters here. In my opinion, there is no Splinter that is absolutely at disadvantage here. Nevertheless, I think certain Elements are offering a good way of dealing with this rulesets. Like mentioned before, a high capacity of damage taking is always appreciated. Therefore, a summoner where we increase our health or decrease the health of our opponent is always nice to play. Not only that but having additional armor is not a bad choice either.

This leads us to the choice of the death Splinter. When there is only the choice between Water and Death I would choose Water. But in this specific case I chose Death for one simple reason. While Death has a unit that grants us additional armor, the water splinter does not have such a unit. With this being said, the reduction of health by the death summoner is giving us an advantage here!

So what units would we take into this battle. I chose a mixture of Death and Neutral cards. For the Death side we took the ravenhood warden. This specific card is granting us additional armor on every unit, making them a very solid damage taker against ranged and Melee attackers. On top of that we chose the Venari Bonesmith that can win games with his Life Leech Ability! Since he is a magic attacker as well, he can immediately start pulling his life points ahead! And last but not least we have the revealer whose main ability is the stun option. With this card, we can additionally stun the opponent’s cards and get away with some extra turns of not taking damage.

Furthermore, we need to fill up our team with some neutral cards. The first card that is always in my team is Uraeus. This card is just too good to pass up on! With 2 attack on level two and the Sneak ability, this card can be a nightmare to deal with! As for the tank position a card with the shield ability is always recommended. Unfortunately, we did not have the fire Splinter available which is why we needed to go with the second best option: Xenith Monk on level two due to his Self healing ability. This way he can take more damage than usual and keep the opponent’s units entertained. Last but not least, we have another Magic attacker to create a good amount of mixture in our team. With the Dispel ability, this card can start to harm our opponents but is mainly here for the magic damage.

Example Battle

Now that we discussed out team, let’s take a look how well we will do against a Water team. Like mentioned before, our great advantage is that we deduct the opponent’s health as well as having the Armor boost! In this specific battle, we are able to make the opponent’S life hell by deleting some of his units from the back as well as having good tanks that are able to absorb some amount of damage. With this being said, the battle was very equal until we were able to get rid of his main damage dealers. After that we were able to decide the battle into our favor!
