Another week another challenge! In today’s Battle Mage Secret we are trying to find the best strategy for yet another ruleset. This time around we are talking about the Melee Mayhem Ruleset and what it takes to conquer one successfully. We will talk about the actual ruleset itself, followed by a brief introduction of our strategy as well as the units that we will be using. Last but not least, we will take a look at the example battle where we are trying to use our explained strategy on! With that being said, let’s get started.

Melee Mayhem Ruleset

Frist things first, let’s talk about the Ruleset itself: Melee Mayhem. Like the name suggests, this is a very tempting and fun ruleset where every melee monster can attack from any position. Usually, a melee unit can only attack from the first position and in several cases with the right Ability from another place as well. But with the Sneak or Reach Ability there come some drawbacks in attacking power or speed that we don’t want to see. With this ruleset, we can go all out an use our most favorite tanks combined, creating a team full of real superheroes!

Strategy & Units!

This ruleset sound like fun doesn’t it? Well, then lets talk strategy and units real quick. I think the most obvious choice here will be to stack up our melee attack and go all out, like I mentioned before. With that, the fire Splinter offers us the best opportunity of heavy hitters paired with great health values! On top of that we are boosting these values with our summoner which increases our strength in this battle. With that being said, we are choosing very hard hitters to begin with! Chimney Wallstop and Forgotten One are perfect examples of this ruleset! With 6 and 5 attack paired with 9 health, these cards are absolutely machines on the field, which will destroy every single card in one single blow. Not only that but because we are focusing our attack on the opponent’s tank, these attacking values are actually concentrating into one position which will actually destroy everything within a few turns.

Now if we don’t want just brutal force, we should think about a tank that can actually take some hits. A great example is the Living Lava. With being the slowest card on the field, this card has 4 attack and 7 health but the actual reason to be on the field is the shield Ability. It will cat the opponent’s attack in half and is a very great counter measure against melee and ranged attackers. And because we are assuming that our opponent will have a similar strategy, we select the Disintegrator as well! Why? Well, it would at least reduce the melee attack of our opponent by a little bit and in these kind of battles, every little bit counts!

With the rest of your mana I would usually try to fit in as many attackers as possible, the more mana left the stronger the attacker can be. In our case the cards will be one mana cards as buffer because we reached our limit with the previous ones, but in general, the more attackers, the better!

Example Battle

Alright, let’s take a look at what we can actually do in battle. In my surprise, we faced a very weak life team that did not go in my direction at all. It seemed like he just played it safe and tried to diversify his attacking style. Well, too bad for him that we actually utilized the full power of this ruleset. Yes, we did lose a few units to his Captain Katie which boosted here card in the end but with just the amount of attack, we were able to win this game comfortably! It was 20 attack on our side versus 9 attack on the opponent’s side.
