Are you new to Splinterlands and searching for some advice, then you found the correct series! In this Beginner’s Guide Series, we are discussing things that new players of Splinterlands should know or try to learn. In this specific episode we will talk about the new Reward Cards for the Life Element. I already covered the Water, Earth as well as the Fire Splinter in previous posts. You can check them out down below! We will discuss every single new card and think about possible combinations as well as up and downsides of these cards. With that being said, if this article motivated you to start playing this amazing game, then feel free to join the fun over the following link:

Common Cards

As always, we will start with the common cards. The first one being the Imperial Knight. A great tank against Magic attackers due to his Void armor ability! He also does not have the worst stats: For 7 mana we are getting 2 attack, 6 armor and 7 health. Although the stats are not the worst, it is also not a super amazing card. I think its true potential comes with higher levels, especially when it gets the self-heal Ability. Its potential is also looking not very bad. With a maximum of 9 health, 7 armor and 4 attack this card can play a very great tank and is definitely a great guest in every deck.

Nevertheless, there is also another common card, that I enjoy playing much more. I am talking about the Drybone Barbarian. With a base attack of 4 and a health of 10, this card is already looking much sharper than the Knight. What comes on top is its Enrage Ability that makes him even stronger once it got a little bit of damage on its skin. On level 5 it is even getting the Retaliate Ability which is definitely a pro argument since he would be able to make additional damage! With a top attack of 6 and a great 12 health, this card can be a true beast and I really enjoy playing him on the Gold level already.

Rare Card

Moving on to the rare card we have the War Pegasus. I think this card is a great addition to the original Chaos Legion Summoner General Sloan. With its Range attacking type, this card defiantly fits in the main units of the Life Splinter. On the other hand, this attacking type is not very great in the long run in my opinion, which is why I try to avoid playing too many of Ranged attackers. This is also why this card could be just overkill for this specific Splinter as there are already very great Ranged Attacking monsters. With the Flying and Shatter Ability, this card definitely has some perks in its advantage but all in all this card looks not too special compared to the already existing ones.

Epic Card

Speaking about special cards, let’s talk about the Epic Card before moving on to the legendary cards. Here we have yet another card without any attack. In general it is not a bad thing but with only the Immunity Ability, it is truly not too amazing. On top of that we are getting 8 armor with only 4 health which makes this card very vulnerable against Magic Attackers. Granted, if used with the legendary Life summoner, this card will definitely be able to shine more but this is only if you already have this card. With higher levels, this card even obtains the Thorns Ability and a team buff that allows to increase the Melee Attack. All in all a very solid card, that would definitely shine with the following legendary combined with the legendary summoner.

Legendary Cards

And we already arrived at the most interesting part of this article: The Legendary cards! I must admit that both cards are definitely on the higher end of the tier list of the newly introduced reward cards. I do think that these cards can even be the strongest ones if combined with the correct summoner. Aves Sturgis comes with the Weapons Training Ability. What is very special about this, is that this card has magic attack! If we are able to level this card we are even able to bring its attack up to three. The most amazing part is that all the monsters without attack, next to this card will get half of this card’s attack in the specific attacking style which would be the magic attack in this case. This would allow us to play these attack-less cards anywhere we want and gain some more magic attackers as long as we are next to Aves Sturgis!

While Aves was costing us 6 mana, this next card is costing a whopping 11 mana! But I think this price can be justified. In my opinion this card has the potential to be the best card of this reward expansion and you will quickly understand why. Not only is this card a magic attacker and has 12 health but this card also has the taunt ability! This means that this card will get targeted first and can be placed anywhere, we need it to be. What’s more is that it also comes with the Void ability which already neglects potential Magic attacks. The best part is that from level 3, this card gets also the Martyr Ability. This means that due to the fact that it is a Taunt card, it will die no matter what. With a clever playing you would be able to boost the cards that you need to boost and ultimately get the win. Like I said, I really hope to get this card very soon, since this card looks like a very overpowered one.
