Alright guys, the new reward cards are already a few day in the game and I definitely want to make a review on them! I will discuss each Splinter separately after I discussed each of the summoners in my previous post. In this post we will break down the new Fire Splinter Reward Cards. Traditionally, the Fire cards are Melee Heavy and come with a good amount of Health and lack some armor. With this being said, let’s take a look what we can expect to get in our reward chests!

Common Cards

We will start with the cards that we will get the most common. The name says it all: the common cards. We start with the Ferox Defender who immediately introduces something that the Fire Splinter lacks: Armor! With his Protect ability we are finally able to add some armor to our cards which will definitely change the playing style for this Element. Unfortunately, this card is a Melee attacker without any special attacking Ability. In order to use his full potential he has to be in the first position or there must be a special ruleset being set. I think this card would make an alright tank, the problem is that once he dies, all the additional armor is gone which is why he is best used in the backline. On top of that he is getting the repair ability on level 6 which will make him a great support card! I think it is definitely valuable to have a Fire summoner who allows you to have this car don level 6!

Moreover, we have the Firecaller which introduces the newest Ability in the game! Martyr allows us to buff the adjacent monsters once this cards has died. In general a pretty cool ability to have, but it has to be used right as well as the monsters have to be placed right. In general we need this monster to die quickly which means that the only chance this might happen is if it is in the tank position or in last place. Well, the first option should not be executed as this card is a Ranged attacker and will not attack from there. The second option is as bad as the first one since we would only be able to buff only one card then. So where are we putting this card and when are we using it? I suggest to use it during Opportunity battles and put this card as the weakest one into your squad. This way you can ensure to place great monsters around it that can be buffed. In general I am not the biggest fan of this card so far, but maybe I did not find the correct use-case yet. Its final form looks definitely deadly but the way to get there would be a rocky one I suppose.

Rare Card

Moving on to the Rare cards we have our summoner that we already discussed which is why I will not cover that here. The other Rare card in this selection is the Pyrewatch Devil. Again another Ranged attacker which I am not the biggest fan of in the Fire Splinter. I am sure there are amazing use cases with summoners that benefit this attacking style more but in general I think that this attacking style might be the weakest of the three if we do not count the non attack monsters! Anyways, this card comes with the Life Leech Ability which will increase his Life Points every time he hits a monster. This is pretty cool when Armor is disallowed or when the Equalizer ruleset is activated. In both cases this Ability can help you to win this battle. All in all, a 3 mana monster is always nice to have in low mana battles and I think this card is defiantly not the worst one!

Epic Card

Moving on to the Epic Card in this Splinter. A very interesting card in my opinion. Iidri Fyre costs us 6 mana, has no attack but 3 armor and 8 health. Additionally, she has 4 speed and the Taunt ability. This card only needs some attack and it would be the perfect Taunt. Well, we can put some attack on this card if we get the legendary that we will introduce next. Other than that this card has some great potential even without the attack! With the additional Phase, Return Fire and Redemption Abilities this card has some pretty cool defense mechanisms that will allow it to be a card being played very often in the next cycle.

Legendary Cards

Last but not least we have two amazing legendary cards that we need to discuss! Frist up is the Ferexian Hero. It will be a very happy day once I am able to play this card because it just looks great! For 8 mana we are getting 3 attack, 3 speed, 1 armor and 7 health. Well not the best stats, but he has the Reach ability which allows him to attack from the second position. On top of that he has the new Weapons training Ability which will put attack on monsters without attack points. In fact it will half of this monster’s attack which means that they will get initially 2 attack points. This is why the combination of the previous card and this one can be a very strong one! On top of that we would be able to combine this card with cards like Krash Wanderford that has 6 speed, 6 health and no attack. I think the opportunities are endless and can change the game away from the current Magic Meta.

The second legendary card is even more ridiculous in my opinion! If I would have to choose between the two legendary cards I would take Sorriel the Bale! Why? I am just saying Magic attack on top of Double Strike! This card is just insane in my opinion. For 9 mana we are getting double 2 magic attack with two speed and 5 health. With higher levels he even gets the Blind Ability which makes the Melee and Ranged attacker of our enemies miss more of their attacks and he even gets Rust which helps our other Melee or Ranged attackers to go through the Armor! With 3 attack in his final form, he is able to deal 6 damage per turn which is already very incredible. Yes, there are ways to counter this card but if somebody would have told me that this card would exist, I would have tried to get my hands on it as quickly as possible.
