Splinterlands - Share Your Battle - Bloodlust Abuse!

It is time again to share some battles in Splinterlands! In this week the Epic Death card of Magi Necrosi would have been the battle to share. Instead, I wanted to showcase some of my recent battles with the newly release reward summoners. I must say that it is a lot of fun using them because they allow the usage of the Gladius cards! So this is why I wanted to talk about these cards as well as show you my recent combinations. Last but not least I will also show you some of my battles and talk about the strategy that I followed during these battles! With this being said, let’s get started.

Gladiators & Summoners!

First things first, so far I was able to get only 2 out of the 6 summoners. These were the Death summoner Octavia and the Dragon Summoner Helios. It is pretty cool to have the dragon summoner since I am basically able to use every Gladius card as long as the Splinter is being allowed to be used. The buffs that both of these cards are giving out are not the worst either which is why I am pretty happy so far. My wish summoner would still be the Life one, since I think that Life has some great potential, and later on you will see why!

For the Gladius cards that I am using during the course of this post will be obviously a Death card in the person of the Witch of Warwick. I like her a lot since she has the Life Leech ability. With this she can always regenerate some of her Life points and even increase it during the battle. Combined with the Bloodlust Ability, this combination can be lethal to your opponent as long as you can keep this card safe! For 5 mana this card comes with 2 magic attack, which is also very powerful as well as 2 health and 2 speed. This just shows the need of protection but also that if kept safe, this card can single handedly win you battles.

A very similar strategy can be followed with Captain Katie. In general I would recommend playing these cards in rather low mana battles since it will be easier for you to kill monsters and trigger the Bloodlust Ability. In this case she already comes with 3 magic attack which makes it rather easy to kill something. On top of that she also has 6 health and the amazing Snipe ability which would allow us to target back line monsters of our opponent. Overall, I think that this Gladius card is one of the strongest if not the strongest out there!

Additional Cards Worth Mentioning!

As for additional cards that can support or protect our chosen ones, I have a pool of cards that I always like to use. One of my favorites so far is definitely the Drybone Barbarian as a tank! Especially thanks to his Enrage Ability, this card is becoming a beast really quickly and can take a good amount of damage thanks to his 11 health. Granted, for 9 mana he is not really the cheapest but also not the worst to get our Gladius cards some protection!

Another very useful card is always the Time Mage. Not only does it slow our opponents down, but it also has the Magic attacking style which will be a heavy damage to our opponents. In combination with the dragon summoner, we would be able to get a delta of 2 speed since we are getting an additional boost trough Helios. Yes the Time Mage is definitely not the heaviest of cards but as long as it is protected by the tank everything should fall into place!

For the Death Splinter, we are having two tanks that I like to use! While Harklaw is definitely our everyday tank that just absorbs Melee and Ranged damage, the Cursed Windeku is definitely a more sophisticated way of dealing damage to our opponent. In both cases, they are good against Melee attackers but not really great against Magic. In the following battles we had the fortune to not come up against these sort of enemies but it could be definitely a drawback with these cards. Anyways, I think that both are fulfilling their jobs as protectors for our Gladius card so that when the time comes around, it has enough kills to carry us to victory!

Example Battle

As promised we have several battle today with a very similar theme: we abuse the Bloodlust mechanic! In the first two battles we see the effect with the death Splitner while the third battle will be a show case with the Dragon Splinter in combination with the Life Gladius Card. In all of those battles the Gladius card is able to delete the whole lobby since it is getting the kills in. Especially the Death Gladius card is growing very fast due to its Life Leech Abiltiy as well. It seems like, the more damage we are dealing the more Life she can Leech which seems very hard to beat once the damage reaches a certain level! We can see that in all of the cases, the tanks are doing a great job of giving us time to develop our strategy. On the same side we see that our opponents had some pretty solid strategies going on, especially the last one. But because we were able to scale our main damage dealer, we were able to get all three victories! A last thing to mention is that, there will be probably a lot of miss-tries in the beginning but once you figured out the correct time and place to play these cards, you can become very hard to beat!
