Splinterlands - Sneaking Fire Combination

In today’s article I want to talk about another very powerful team combination. This time we will talk about the Fire Splinter combined with the sneak ability. In my opinion this could be one of the strongest ones yet and it is very easy to build.

The Team

With the new summoner Tarsa it was clear that fire will stay the Melee heavy splinter like it always been. Tarsa gives an additional Melee damage and an additional health. This makes the fire splinter very powerful as it already has a lot of Melee monsters which don’t have a lot of health but a lot of speed. This means that this summoner targets the weakness of the fire splinter and enforces its strengths.

It took me a little to realize the whole potential of this combination but I think the following team will make a very good shot. Especially in the lower leagues this team will be very powerful because the lower divisions lack a lot of diversity. Almost everybody is playing the standard deck cards, which is absolutely fair and gives you the opportunity to learn the game more. I myself must admit that I still like being in the lower leagues to some degree, because once I could not invest a lot of money yet and second it makes you learn the game more.

The team starts with a solid tank. In the case of the Fire Splinter it is either the Living Lava or the Antoid Platoon. Both of these tanks have the Shield ability which would make them last longer against Melee and Ranged damage. It depends how the mana restrictions for the battle are. In general, the lower the manner the more favorable it is to take the Antoid Platoon.

With a solid tank in front the next step is to build up the ‘killing engine’ of this build. Like the name suggests the Sneak ability is now important. Right now the standard set only gives you the Tenjiy Striker as the only option for a sneak monster. Don’t get me wrong, it is a very powerful monster and can definitely decide close games, but we want to build real engine like I said. Good for us that we always can use Neutral monsters as well. Here my current favorite is Uraeus! Especially on level 2 it has 2 Melee damage to start with and only cost 3 mana. This means that you could always put this beast in almost every battle. The additional perk to that is that it has armor meaning that it needs at least two hits to die by another Sneak Monster. (Unless it is magic but this hardly ever happens). Both of these monsters will erase the backline of your opponent while your tank holds its ground.

With that being said, you can now fill up your board with monster like Serpentine Spy to give you an extra backline killer or you choose to for a Reach monster like Radiated Brute so you can still make some extra damage. It is important to mention, that you should take the summoner to your full advantage and only use magic and ranged attackers in special cases. In my opinion this extra melee damage gives you a very big advantage and should be used fully.

Battle Exempels

In the first battle we just destroyed our opponent from the back. In the beginning it did not look like we could win this fight but the Antoid Platoon did its job to protect my Sneak attackers very well.

The second example shows how the advantage of the sneak attackers can be used to the fullest potential. You can just see how the opponent’s back line is being cut trough like a warm piece of butter.

In both of these fights the combination proved to be very effective and I hope that I could give you a new perspective or an inspiration for an additional build in your toolbox. Let me know, whether you have a favorite build so far? Mine would be definitely the Magic Earth Build!
