3 Weeks of Awakened Bulls * My Hive Goals (Week 3, 2023)

(Edited)

This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only some information, so if you want details, they can be found in the post.

Current State/Other Selection CriterionGoals Matching the Criterion
Ongoing4 (HP + HBD Savings, LEO Staked, Comments Made, DEC Saved)
Main goals3 (HP + HBD Savings, LEO Staked, Comments Made)
Goals1 (DEC Saved)
Increased goals1 (HBD target for HP+HBD Main Goal)
Decreased goals0

I include a link to the initial goal-setting post for 2023, for reference, if needed.

Ok, another week that comes to confirm that I was probably over-cautious in choosing the HBD target for 2023 for my HP+HBD goal. I was expecting the market to turn no sooner than the end of Q1 or in Q2, but the market always has a mind of its own, and timing it never works.

So, I decided to increase my HBD target for my HP+HBD goal, even if only 3 weeks have passed from the year. For now, a partial increase, from 12500 HBD to 14000 HBD, but if things go in the same direction I'll probably make another update, at least.

I don't go to a higher, rounder target, like 15k, for now, because we can still pull back from these levels, in which case this target will be much harder to achieve.

What the rising prices prevented me and everyone else from doing was increasing our stashes at lower prices. On the other hand, the sentiment started to turn, and that's generally a great thing for crypto.

Let's see what changed since last week.

HIVE Power (HP) + HBD in Savings Main Goal

My staked HP increased slightly organically to 26073 HP, and I haven't added any additional HBD to savings last week.

Basically, I'm waiting for the end of the month and the HPUD to power up more HIVE.

Here's what the evolution of the HP+HBD goal looks like (with the increased target for HBD):

image.png

I'll need to have one of the targets (HBD or HIVE) reached to consider this goal completed.

As you have seen already with the HBD target, if it becomes too easy, I'll increase the target. But I won't increase it forever. Just like the market can play against your targets, it can play in their favor too.

LEO Staked Main Goal

149 LEO staked during the last week. Not one of the better ones for LEO rewards. The interesting part is that if HIVE grows in price compared to LEO, we receive more LEO for our delegations to @leo.voter. Not enough to compensate, in my case.

334 LEO left in a little over 8 days to meet the 1000 LEO power-up guideline for January. Looks like next week I should buy some LEO.

Splinterlands Land Expansion Main Focus

Land expansion's main focus extends throughout 2023. Unless I will change the strategy, it will be the only main focus / main goal for Splinterlands in 2023. But there will be several 1-3 months goals.

First Land-Related Goal: DEC Saved

I finally started making some progress with this goal, after maxing out Immortalis. It's far from what I expect I'll need pretty soon, but I don't want to elaborate until things become clear and they are set in stone. And I have the plan to come up with the difference if it'll be the case (and recuperate it afterwards).

Comments Made

I started this week with a total of 12146 comments made.

Ended the week with 12269 comments made, which brings the number of my comments this week to only 123.

Better than the needed average of 117 to reach the goal of 18k.

But I will be below the 500 comments per month in January soft-target, most likely.

Weekly Task - Buy SEED

With HIVE pumping, more than one of my orders on Hive-Engine got filled this week. I'll pick one of them as the "weekly task", and that is to buy SEED.

That's a token backed by some interesting investments, in my opinion, which do not overlay on my own, managed by one of the more experienced investors/traders from Hive.

Regarding LEO power up, would it not be better to wait for the 15th of each month? Or you want to let them get curation rewards directlz?

I usually power up more often in the second part of the month (for potentially increasing curation rewards) and keep it liquid for LPUD in the first part of the month.

Nice change to your goals. I hope it goes well and the price of Hive stays high so you can reach that HBD goal. I had a few orders I placed a few weeks ago for LEO that filled when the price of Hive went up. So I plan on powering up some extra LEO during the next LPUD.

Yep, HE prices always have a lag compared to HIVE, so in cases like this we get our orders filled. That doesn't mean it's a good price for us in dollar terms in the short term, but it is what it is. At least they get filled.

Thanks, John!

The new computer is working great, and so is the new operating system! I am still in a period of adjusting, deciding what tasks to keep on the old laptop and what to move on to the new one, installing the apps I need, etc.
