Getting Used to Airdrops on Hive? Here's Another One! PeakMonsters Team Brings PKM Token!
I've seen yesterday this amazing news post about the first token coming from the PeakD/PeakMonsters team!
Its name is PKM and, guess what? 75% of its total supply will be airdropped to users of the PeakMonsters marketplace.
The new token will have more than one use case, like being able to share from the profit of PeakMonsters, to create user-specific tournaments on Splinterlands or to access new specific features developed on Peakmonsters which will only be available to holders of PKM tokens.
There will also be a PKM:SPS diesel pool on Hive-Engine, initially seeded by the team, and ongoing incentivized with rewards that will come from PeakMonsters' profits. The pool doesn't exist yet, it will be created on March 14th, according to this schedule:
Regarding the airdrop, it is tier-based, and it has two phases:
- the initial big airdrop (estimated 2-2.5mil PKM droped at once on March 23rd)
- weekly airdrops starting on March 30th
There are also bonuses for large purchases, starting on March 21st.
A large purchase is considered anything above $10 , but bonuses are tiered also.
To be considered for the intial big airdrop one has to had purchased from Peakmosters' marketplace cards (maybe packs too?) of at least $10 during the last 12 months.
To qualify for the weekly airdrops, you need to be at least in tier 3, which means $50 minimum purchased during the last 12 months.
At this point I have two questions (@asgarth or @jarvie). When are snapshots being taken? Weekly or more often I presume, since this is a very long going airdrop. Is the snapshot for the big airdrop being taken after March 21st, when bonuses for large purchases start?
How long will the weekly airdrop last? At the prices today, it could last 100 years, which would probably make it the first case of ongoing airdrop to leave as inheritance, but the team took in consideration a x10, which would speed up the full distribution to about 10 years.
Are you excited or what? PolyCub started being claim dropped on Saturday (by the way, today is the 1 year birthday of Cub Finance, so Happy Birthday, Cub Finance!), PKM starts being airdroped on March 21st as far as I understood (the large purchases bonuses), AND, if that's not enough, we will be able to claim our LARYNX tokens on March 20th, the 2-year birthday of Hive (after the split).
The snapshot for the initial airdrop will be on March 23rd, time still to be defined but expect it around 9am UTC. After the initial airdrop we'll take the snapshot every week.

The idea is to reward peakmonsters.com users, so the airdrop will last for a very long period. Actually we hope to never run out of tokens :)
But the tier is based on a rolling volume, so if an user does not use the market for 1 year it will stop getting the airdrop.
Also PKM will be used to "unlock" some new advanced features and for tournaments, so people will actually spend part of what they get from the airdrop.

It's a very simple process when we send out tokens we just look at the TIER LEVELS and send the corresponding tokens and we will do this once for the big airdrop then each week.
Nope you have until the 23rd. Probably the snapshot will happen moments before the tokens start to go out.
Just to clarify this a bit better. I plan the snapshot to be instantaneous. But sending out tokens will take a bit because we'll have to cast tons of transactions.
You don't have to interrogate any APIs for that, since the tiers are internal to Peakmonsters, so it makes sense to be super-fast. That's what you are talking about, right?

What a huge contrast between two Marches. The first one was March 2020, a very terrifying month still fresh in the minds of most people all over the world. After two years, on Hive we have the second March, a very memorable and exciting month - March 2022, the airdrop month!

Very true! That's what happens when people feel they are part of something that is going somewhere instead of nowhere. And more, they are all owners. Everyone contributes in their own way, synergies are being created and everything takes off.
Agree 100%! I remember July last year, though I was clueless about airdrop, my youngest son and I were taking chances to receive some tokens. After two weeks of joining those airdrops and ending nowhere, we stopped. Now that I found Hive, no longer looking for airdrops, but they keep coming!
I guess I'm out of luck on that peak monsters airdrop but good luck to everyone using it. I prefer monster market for buying cards and I haven't really had my bigs fill for a long time (just old ones from like a year ago).

Neither do I. I used cardsauctionz for their cashback, but there is still time to buy some cards on PeakMonsters for the initial drop and then afterwards the weekly airdrops will be influenced if you buy more.
It's a great time to be on hive. Claiming some SPS on Splinterlands, then some polycubs and soon some PKM tokens too. If only they would take rentals into consideration... I have not much volume for buying cards but my rental volume is all over peakmonsters :-)
Yeah, I know. That would make many people very happy. But they answered it's difficult with these microtransactions, and unless they'll have an API from Splinterlands to help with that, they won't take rentals into account.
I haven't bought anything this last year through PM, but I'll make some purchases before airdrop starts.

It has some interesting mechanics. Those who use or will use the marketplace from Peakmosters regularly will have nice airdrops.
I think this is really fun news, but I also think I did all my bigger purchases thorugh Monster Market. Sigh, I always choose the wrong sites haha! (here from your ListNerds mailer)
