LEO Power Guideline for February Almost Achieved * My Hive Goals (Week 8, 2023)

This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only some information, so if you want details, they can be found in the post.

Current State/Other Selection CriterionGoals Matching the Criterion
Ongoing5 (HP + HBD Savings, LEO Staked, Comments Made, DEC Saved, Maxed Cards for Staking on Land)
Completedgoals: 0, main goals: 0
Main goals3 (HP + HBD Savings, LEO Staked, Comments Made)

I include a link to the initial goal-setting post for 2023, for reference, if needed.

This was a week with many things happening on Hive. That included a 22% spike on HIVE, which surprisingly wasn't carried out from the regular source. During the spike and after, Binance was the centralized exchange with the most volume for HIVE/BTC.

Another thing to notice is that the HIVE support at 45 cents (even better at 0.45 HBD) held remarkably well this week.

See how strong support looks for HIVE/HBD by comparison, even though it wasn't tested on high volume:

Let's see what changed since last week regarding my Hive goals.

HIVE Power (HP) + HBD in Savings Main Goal

My staked HP slowly reduced to 27086 HP, which means I power down my posting account more than my posts are making every week these days in HIVE Power. Added another 100 HBD to savings which brought the total to 1205 HBD. I keep liquid HIVE, but I decided to power-up a smaller amount on this HPUD.

Here's what the evolution of the HP+HBD goal looks like:

image.png

I'll need to have one of the targets (HBD or HIVE) reached to consider this goal completed.

As you have seen already with the HBD target, if it becomes too easy, I'll increase the target. But I won't increase it forever. Just like the market can play against your targets, it can play in their favor too.

LEO Staked Main Goal

430 LEO staked during the last week, a big portion of them purchased (more on the Weekly Task section).

image.png

18 LEO left to stake in February to meet the 1000 LEO power-up guideline, in about 2 days. I decided to push it this month and buy enough LEO to meet the guideline, but I won't do the same next month. I want to meet the guideline from gains only next month.

Splinterlands Land Expansion Main Focus

Land expansion's main focus extends throughout 2023. Unless I will change the strategy, it will be the only main focus / main goal for Splinterlands in 2023. But there will be several 1-3 months goals.

First Land-Related Goal: DEC/DEC-B Saved

Deadline: end of Q1 / beginning of Q2, most likely (and unless new relevant information changes the situation).

Target to consider the goal completed: 1 mil. DEC/DEC-B saved.

Stretch goal: 2 mil. DEC/DEC-B saved.

Current status: almost 735k DEC-B + building up holdings in diesel pools.

I don't see a reason to buy more DEC-B now, when I can earn some yield in diesel pools for the time being.

New Land-Related Goal: Maxed Cards for Staking on Land

The purpose of this goal is to build the amount of maxed-level cards I need for staking on my tract.

The latest information shared seem to lean toward 5 slots per plot to stake cards, without any mention of a requirement for summoners (that doesn't mean they can't be used as regular cards). If that will be the case, it makes more sense (since summoners are a bottleneck for the game already), but still, a lot of cards are required.

To be honest, I started working on this goal a while ago, although not consistently.

So, what are the details of it?

Deadline: June 2023, probably.

The number of maxed-level cards dedicated to staking on land: 500 (5 x 100).

Current situation: 96 / 500 (19.2%)

Time remaining: ~15 weeks

I could probably add some more maxed-level cards from my playing deck if I'll be forced to (some are probably underutilized in the playing deck).

Comments Made

I started this week with a total of 12670 comments made.

Ended the week with 12786 comments made, which brings the number of my comments this week to 116.

I now need an average of 119 to reach the goal of 18k.

Weekly Task - Buy LEO

To meet this month's guideline of an additional 1000 LEO staked, I had to purchase quite a bit of LEO. Almost 300 LEO during the last 2 weeks, more or less.

I will most likely meet the guideline in February, but at the same time, I decided not to purchase any more LEO in March. I want to meet the guideline from gains only, and if not, to see how short I'll fall.

I only focused on two things this week: LEO and maxed cards for land staking. As a result, I missed a good opportunity given HIVE's volatility.

Very nice, Adrian.

It can be a bit challenging to keep up with goals in a short month.

Yes, it can. Hopefully, next month I'll hit my LEO target without more purchases, so I can focus on something else.

Hive is holding up pretty stable and that is good.

As for your LEO earned, I also didn't make as much LEO as I would like organically. I bought some LEO to make sure that I hit my goal but I also think it has kind of slowed down.

Are you active in #threads? I think that's where a lot of LEO votes are going these days.

No. I haven't really bothered much with threads. There hasn't been too much time and going through my feed takes up the few hours I have at night.
