SplinterGlossary: 1 Step Forward and 2 Backward

avatar

This is the weekly update on the progress of SplinterGlossary.

What Is SplinterGlossary?

SplinterGlossary is that section of LeoGlossary that defines a glossary of inter-linked terms and definitions for Splinterlands and other gaming terms. LeoGlossary is focused on financial, general crypto, but also including Hive and Leofinance terms and definitions, banking terms, insurance terms, and a series of specific lists.

Some Details

Do you remember that last week I updated the definitions for Keep and Castle, among other things? Well, guess what news Matt gave us in this week's town hall? Yep! The whitepaper information for Castle and Keep will be updated. Which means I'll need to update those definitions again. Great timing on my part updating these definitions right before details will change again! :)

Something else I had to update was my own mistake. When PeakMonsters updated their page for our land plots, they had a column that mentioned the type of natural resource the plot will produce (in Land 2.0, because in Land 1.5 all terrain types produce Grain). Now, I don't know where they got that information, but I assumed it was a credible source. So, I used that information in a few definitions.

In the meantime, they removed the column from that page or moved it elsewhere and I couldn't find it. I don't know what happened, maybe this was just bogus information they played with for development purposes, and that column should have never been shown publicly.

The idea is I cannot use this information either, so I removed it from the definitions where I previously added it (the four natural resources definitions)

But the bulk of the updates were focused on the terrain type definitions. All 14 of them.

What can I say? Sometimes working on SplinterGlossary feels like 1 step forward and 2 backward.

Plans for the Future

Focus on land will likely continue because there are more things to add/update. As always, Splinterlands weekly updates take precedence, or I will lose track of them.

Final Words

Remember that the success or not of this project depends a lot on the contribution of others. When you use terms defined in SplinterGlossary in your Splinterlands/gaming posts, it would be great if you'd link them to those definition posts.

Also, if you notice something wrong with any defined terms, please let me know in these weekly updates.
