One Year of Brawls - My experience

Since this new game feature came out, I wanted to try it so badly. Brawls, Raids, and some other game forms were promised to guilds a while back. A year ago brawls were launched with its version 2.0 shortly after. Along with this new type of battles, a whole new set of cards was launched as well exclusively to be used in those fights. Since a year has passed, I wanted to share my experience and insights.

It took me a while to be accepted on a Guild with the capacity of participating on Brawls. I joined Immortal Gods 4 on September 2021. I was so scared to get into brawls due to the strength of my deck back then, and I was right to be. I got smashed by llamas and Yodin Zakus all over the arena. It... was... brutal. Nonetheless, I didn't give up, and I started asking question in my guild about how to preform well on those battles.

My main reason for experiencing brawls was to be able to obtain the Gladius cards, and with them some collection power (CP). Even though they are exclusive for brawls, they count on your overall deck for CP. All of those are badass cards with their own abilities plus bloodlust which increases their stats each time they accomplish a kill.

In my guild there is a simple rule, we must be above 60% win rate to participate in brawls. At first, I didn't know which fray to fill, and the guild leaders gave me the opportunity to join low level frays. Then, I tried for the first time a Gold-foil only fray, and I have been participating there ever since. Not many people used to keep their gold foil cards, but I had a decent amount of them to try the fray out. Then, members of my guild helped me with some extra cards to participate. To that, I add rents. I usually go about 100-250 DEC in 24hrs rents for each brawl. Yeah, at the current DEC rewards per battle that amount hurts, but it is worth it.

Fray 13 is bronze card levels, so no combined cards are needed. I can get through the battles with card of 1 BCX. My usually played summoners are from the Dice collection; especially light and earth. I find their abilities to be really strong, and I would love to have them on my deck permanently, but oh poverty. Anyway, I am also getting used to chaos Legion summoners now, and the water summoner has proven to be very useful. The rest of my rents are to strengthen the splinter I want to fight with which are usually water, earth, and light. Sometimes I have had to run at the start of a battle to rent the summoner I need because of the ruleset. Then, I got back fast to fill my team and summit it.

Collection Power

As I mentioned, my main reason for participating in brawls was to gain collection power. To this date, I own most of the Gladius cards except for the legendary and a couple epics. I also have 5 gold-foil cards which are a main aid in brawls. So, I have collected 28 different Gladius cards and almost all of them are at bronze level by now. Yes, a year for bronze level cards. That means common cards at level 3, rare at level 2, and epics at level 1.

GLADIUS CARDSCollection Power
198 common cards x 10 CP1980
67 rare cards x 40 CP2680
5 epic cards x 200 CP1000
5 gold-foil cards5500
Total CP11,160

Maybe it doesn't sound like much, but for a semi-small account like mine each and every collection point counts! that is almost what an account needs to be at silver III. It is also important to mention that I don't have access to Gold-foil and legendary-cards chance multipliers, I hope we as a guild get to that level for the store soon!! I want more gold foils so I can use them in battle.

Having Fun

Brawls brought something to guilds that was much needed. It required team effort to achieve a purpose. Before brawls, a guild was just about upgrading buildings for benefits. Now, we have another reason to join forces and support each other to come as champions! I have gotten advices, jokes, bragging comments, support with cards, and more during those fights. It starts to feel like how a guild should be. I hope many more things come to guilds in the future (raids where are you?). I highly recommend participating in brawls. It doesn't require much time or resources, and it certainly gives you a sense of accomplishment and team effort. Plus, you get some CP points. As for tips:

  • Remember you can run and rent a summoner you need for a fight you just started then come back.

  • If you are going to depend on rents, wait till the last 24hrs of the battle time to start; you don't want canceled rents in the middle of a fight or for a summitted team.

  • Pay attention to Brawls that occur near the end of season; rents are killers during that time.

  • Listen to your guild members; their experience is gold.

  • Be responsible for your fray.

  • Have fun in the process!

it is a good sharing. I am lucky; I have a good guide accepting me; otherwise, I have no idea what you talk about.

This is so true. Brawls have made the guilds so much more fun and interactive. It has also fostered cooperation between the guild members, which I like a lot.
