Weekly Battle Challenge (2) - Hill Giant

This is my second weekly battle by using Hill Giant. In most cases, I use Hill Giant in the second position because the monsters may be eliminated in the first position if all rival monsters target this big boy without armor or special skill to resist. Now you will see how to use the Giant effectively in the battle.

Let's learn about the giant and see how I use the monster in the battle:

What is special about Hill Giant is that the monster is a perfect match for both low mana battles and reverse speed battles. In these rule sets, you can have the advantage of 3 mana and 1 speed point at maximum level!

So, time to see how can we utilize better when Hill Giant is in the second position.

Team Set Up.png

It was a Standard & 25 Mana Limit fight that I decided to surprise my opponents once againt with the big boy 😉

My Team Consists of:
1 Failed Summoner in the first position
1 Melee attacker - Giant Hill
2+2+3 Magic Attackers in the back line
1 Ranged attack coming from Child of Forest.

The mentality of this team set was to ensure that the 7 points of magic attack can be secured; the team can eliminate the first liner with targeted attacks. In the first and last position, the monsters primary utility is to protect the team game and sustain it. Thus, they are semi-tanks of the game.

When it comes to Giant Hill, it is set in the second position to use its 1 attack when it's the monster's turn and to sustain its well-being with the heal coming from Goblin Psychic. +2 heal per round is a massive opportunity for my team.

Examining the team set of my rival, you can clearly see that the team was based on immediate attacks that come from assassing or fragile backliners. In this team set, the Lava is the only tank that can secure the rest. Yet, Lava has no protection against 7 magic attack coming from my monsters.
Once SPY could not target the ranged attacker and the magicians, the rival lost a huge advantage against me.

Strengths Weaknessses.png

The Strong Sides of my team were security + focused magic hits. Child of the forest was the last liner to take at least 1 sneaky attack that may come from the fire team. On the other hand, first two positions were filled with tanks that can get the damage on themselves for the sake of victory.

Once there is no threat on my magic attackers, they just hit the rivals and eliminated them in a row. If the giant were in the first position, Spy would kill Khmer Princess with 2 HP. That was a nice move by me.

Weaknessess are pretty obvious in my team: Too fragile against a well-protected team. Imagine Spy + 1 more backline attacker starts dealing damage to the back line rather than focusing on the first position. In this scenario, I would not have any chance to win the battle.

If the rival had Tarsa as the summoner, harder hits of melee attackers of the rival would eliminate all my monsters one by one.

VICTORY!

I was able to win thanks to my plan and the way battle went smoothly. Though the rival had some advantages to eliminate my attackers instantly, the team set was good to prevent their deadlious attacks.
