Weekly Battle Challenge (2) - Portal Spinner

Welcome to the second battle challenge of Portal Spinner. Once again we will examine some effective ways to use Portal Spinner in our beginner level battles. Do not forget the fact that Portal Spinner is a functional monster that is effective and decisive from the very first level!

Here we have 2 important features of Portal Spinner that make it unique from Level 1:

1- The Armor: It enables the monster to survive +1 round
2- Scattershot: It penetrates the other skills and finds a target randomly!

Besides, 5 mana for a functional Ranged Attacker is not. too much. If we consider average mana spend for Ranged attackers with unique skills, it is worth for sure!

Let's see how to use Portal Spinner effectively in our second challenge:

The team had a strategy as Life Element Monsters.

We directed our attention to dealing as much ranged damage as possible. So, General Sloan was the summoner. Having additional Ranged Attack made all ranged attackers precious hunters in the battle.

So, I had 2 Melee Attack from Chaos Knight; 2+2+(3+3 Double Strike) + 3 Ranged attack points = 13 Ranged Attack Points

The team set of rival rival was an interesting fire strategy. But for using monsters with shield skill, my rival wanted to strenghten the backline with 2 ranged and 1 magic attackers. However, my immense 13 Ranged + 2 Melee attacks were deadlious!

Basically, my team was conscentrated on killing the one in the first line. However, the rivals team had 2 passive melee attackers, 1 ranged with Snipe and 2 backliners to hit my tank.

I believe the strengths of my team is easy to understand.

I had powerful ranged attackers that are used for really low mana (from 2 to 6) and it brought me some advantages against my rival.

15 focused attack points are more than enough to wipe out one by one! Also, I had a solid tank that resisted to the damage coming from all monsters that were able to attack.

When it comes to weaknesses, there are visible weak sides, too.

For example, my rival used 2 more melee attackers that did not deal damage for 2 rounds. If they were magic attackers; then my tank would not survive for a long time. Ranged with 2 HP could not do well against the rival monsters.

If these monsters had snipe ability, then all my ranged attackers would be hunted easily. My team was fragile but powerful. Thus, the tank should never let them reach the ranged ones till the last attack!

As a result, I won the battle.

Both my rival and my team had some weaknesses. I believe I had few weak sides that were compensated with the strong sides to eliminate the monsters on the battlefield 😎

For 25 mana battle, 4 ranged attackers + 1 tank with shield skill did a perfect job!

Of course there may some better ways to win such a battle. Then, it is your turn 😉
