Weekly Battle Challenge - Soul Strangler
In this post, we will be talking about an interesting Death monster: Soul Strangler. It is a perfect death monster that can be used for several team sets. As it requires less mana and it is a threatening ranged attacker, Splinterlanders love it!
Let's remember:
In the first level, it has 2 ranged attack points & 2 HP. Besides, it has 2 speed points. Considering low-mana nature of it, I believe it can be game-changer under several rule sets.
Interestingly, it only gets an ability at MAX level. However, the monster is already OP since the first level 😉
Well-balanced and functional!
Let's see how I used Soul Strangler in my battle.
Death monsters have lower HP than the others in most cases. As you can see, both my team and my rival's team consist of death monsters with low health points. It has pros and cons 😅
I had 2+2 melee attack points and 2+2+2+1 Ranged attack points to eliminate my rivals. However, the attacks were a blit scattered that put the battle in danger. For example, Slient Sha Vi was dealing sneak attacks while Mantoid had Snipe attack.
Though my team had fragile ranged attackers, I had advantages.
My rival had Cursed Windeku with Thorn ability. It is a huge threat for my tank Haunted Spirit and Sha Vi! Also, there are 2 monsters in my rival's team that have sneak and opportunity skills!
Too bad for my low HP ranged attackers 😶
The strongest side of my team was the healing ability of my tank for sure. When your rival tank has Thorn ability, it gets harder for you to sustain your tank durability! Haunted Spirit did an amazing job by surviving and securing the rest of the team.
In addition to that, 2+2 ranged and 2 melee attacks were focused on the first liner. So, it was not easy for the rival's tank to survive. Sha Vi did it well but my snipe attacks were in vain.
I think we can see my Snipe attacks as the weakest side of mine because my monsters hardly dealt any damage to the no-attack monster which has scavenger ability!
Sha Vi and Haunted Spirit carried the team to the victory!
Not using any magic attackers may lead to a loss for me. I believe my team had some leaks in terms of team balance, as well.
I won the battle but My rival might also win the battle because I really had some weak sides that could be manipulated by my rivals team. The Opportunity, Sneak and Thorn attacks were huge threat on my team.
Though it was a tough opponent, my team had some key players that made it possible to be the winner. I think I should consider the team set twice before setting them together 😂
Watch the battle and tell me what are the serious issues in both my team and the rivals' team?
Did I use Sould Strangler effectively in this position?
