BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! - Healed Out Ruleset

Hi Guys! In this post we are exploring on another Splinterlands ruleset. The ruleset we are focusing on is Healed Out.

Healed Out

In a Healed Out ruleset, all healing abilities are disabled. This means healing abilities like Self Heal, Tank Heal, and Triage will not be usable in the battle. Healing from summoner is also disabled.

Lets take a look at a Modern ranked match with Healed Out as one of the ruleset. The battle restrictions are:
Healed Out and Ferocity with a max mana of 99. Only Fire, Water and Earth splinters are allowed in this battle. The Video for the Full Battle can be seen here:

Eternan Brune6SummonerOne of the main weakness for Fire splinter units is the lack of healer units. However here in a Healed Out ruleset, Fire splinter is no longer at a disadvantage. I went with Eternan Brune, which is a Fire summoner that will remove 2 armors off enemy units. Armors can be a good replacement for healing especially when you have a unit with Void Armor.
Grum Flameblade111stGrum Flameblade was my most important unit in this match. Grum Flameblade is equipped with a high armor and health but most importantly it has Void Armor ability. It was very slow though but that was okay as my main usage for it was to tank.
Chimney Wallstop102ndChimney Wallstop was also an important unit for me. It is a high attacking unit with Bloodlust and Reach ability. This mean it can attack while hiding in the second position and could possibly grew into a monster from Bloodlust.
Ferox Defender83rdMy second most important unit in the lineup after Grum Flameblade. My Ferox Defender's Protect ability gave +2 armors to every units in my lineup and also came equipped with Repair ability. This allowed it to repair Grum Flameblade's armor every round as long as Grum Flameblade is alive. This was as good as healing as Grum Flameblade's Void Armor means all attacks, including magic, need to get through Flameblade's armor first before damaging its health. So as long as I can keep repair Flameblade's armor, my opponent needs to destroy that armor first.
Lave Launcher94thLava Launcher was there for my offensive output as it has a very high ranged damage. It also had good armor with Close Range ability meaning it can held its own if it ever need to fight at the first position.
Drybone Raider125thMy main reason for using Drybone Raider was for its Shatter ability. Shatter will destroyed any amount of armor upon a hit. This could be very important if my opponent went with high armor units like Legionnaire Alvar.
Arkemis the Bear126thArkemis the Bear would be my back tank. It has a high health and with its Protect ability my entire lineup would have even more armors.
Total Mana:68

Opponent Lineup:

My opponent unexpectedly went with a Rebellion Earth summoner, Underboss Fabino. Underboss Fabino allowed my opponent to either give +2 melee attack to 2 units or to poison any one unit. I hardly ever encountered this summoner in my battle so it was refreshing to see it appear. However it was only a level 1 summoner which meant my opponent units were very much under levelled as compared to mine.

End of Round 1:

The round started with my opponent giving his/her Grimbardun Fighter an extra +2 melee damage. There was supposed to be another chance to give another unit another +2 melee damage but I didn't see it happening so that was weird. Nonetheless my opponent's main tank, Ulundin Overseer, was taken out within the first round and surprisingly it was my Grum Flameblade which landed the killing blow. This boosted up my Grum Flameblade as it also has Bloodlust ability.

So the first round ended with my opponent losing his/her tank while my tank was relatively intact and stronger now.

End of Round 2:

My Grum Flameblade carried on its killing spree into the second round, this time killing off the opponent's Grimbardun Fighter. At this point my Grum Flameblade had grown into a monster. The repairing of armor by Ferox Defender and Bloodlust's boosting of stats was keeping the Grum Flameblade relatively healthy.

End of Round 3:

I took out another opposing unit although this time it wasn't by Grum Flameblade. My opponent, on the other hand, simply can't get past my Grum Flameblade's defense.

End of Round 4:

The match was won by the end of round four. Although it was a 99 mana battle, it sure was a quick battle. This was partly also because the opponent team was a much lower team.

KEY STRATEGY
My strategy was to use my Grum Flameblade to tank my opponent attack while supported by unit with Repair ability. Without healing disabled in this battle, this was the only way for me to keep my tank alive longer so that the rest of my offensive units can steam roll my opponent lineup.

It worked so well that not only my Grum Flameblade survived the battle, it even grew stronger from constantly killing my opponent units.

SUMMARY
I like to use the above strategy whenever I see a Healed Out ruleset match. Another strategy I frequently use is using units with Life Leech. Life Leech is another way to gain health back when you are losing health to enemy attack.
