Brawl Report 9 - We are Champion!

Splinterlands

Have been fairly busy the past week so didn't manage to sit down to report on 2 of my previous brawl. Only today did I finally managed to find sometime to write on the latest brawl result with KingsHaven.

The restrictions on my brawl are again Novice level battle using only Chaos Legion units. Each battle are also given some random rulesets and mana so we have to quickly decide on what units to use and where to place them on the fly. Details of these rulesets descriptions can be found here.

I have to fight 7 battles this time round and the results are as follow:

Battle 1 - Rulesets Healed Out + Taking Sides (18 Mana): WIN
Battle 1.jpg

No healing no neutral rulesets. I went with Water because I like the Water gladiator in this matchup and was expecting a few small enemy units. Turned out the opposing team went with Water as well but only put out 2 unit. So its my gladiator opportunity unit, Isgald Vorst, vs the enemy Lurker. It was a easy victory here as my opportunity unit is faster and has bloodlust.

Looking at the lineup, I think I was lucky the opposing team didn't have Isgald Vorst cause I would be feeding him up with all my small units.

Battle 2 - Ruleset Fog of War (38 Mana): LOSE
Battle 2.jpg
Once again I went with Water because I like the Water gladiator but you can see from the start I will lose this matchup. Water is traditionally a poor splinter against Earth and it shows in this battle. Magic easily went pass shield and wipe out my lineup in double quick time. Meanwhile my melee have a hard time going through the opponent lineup due to taunt and Queen Mycelia's armoring the entire enemy team.

Battle 3 - Target Practice + Even Stevens (25 Mana): WIN
Battle 3.jpg
Chose Water splinter again but this time I use Alva the Crusher. Its a good tank up front if the opponent used melee or ranged. Turned out the opponent used a magic lineup instead but I still managed to curve up a WIN here as Fire splinter isn't that strong with magic.

Battle 4 - WIN
The opponent didn't put up a team in this match so its a WIN here for me.

Battle 5 - Rulesets Equalizer + Lost Legendaries (18 Mana): WIN
Battle 5.jpg
Both of us chose the same Death splinter and almost the same units for this battle. The only different is I chose Soul Strangler and Chaos Agent whereas the opponent went with Riftwing. As there is an Equalizer rule here, I feel its important to make use of every available slot to get the extra hp for the entire team. Both of us also used the same gladiator Whistling Damon.

Turned out the extra offensive unit I have won it for me here. 😉

Battle 6 - Rulesets Equalizer + Holy Protection (34 Mana): WIN
Battle 6.jpg
I went with Water and Isgald Vorst again because I think Diemonshark is a capable tank as well. Almost lose this fight though. I think the opponent would have won if the Arbalest was put further to the back instead. The biggest issue with ranged units though is most of them can't attack in the first position.

Isgald Vorst won it for me here. Bloodlust is overpowered!

Battle 7 - Ruleset Aim True + Explosive Weaponry (29 Mana): LOSE
Battle 7.jpg
This is almost exact situation as Battle 2 where I lose to a Earth splinter again. I chose Water because I wanted the extra Speed to make use of Explosive Weaponry's blast damage. Unfortunately the enemy Earth splinter has Queen Mycelia who can armored up every one in its team. LOSE here...

5 Wins out of 7 battles. Overall not bad of a performance for me. Going through the battles, I realised I had been using Water splinter 6 out of 7 times. I think I am starting to be over reliable on Water splinter here. 😥

What is great though is as a guild we came up 1st in this brawl! We were quietly confidence we can do well as the other guilds has a slightly lower rating than us even before we started. Good thing we managed to put it through! I think this is the first time the guild came in 1st since I started blogging the brawl. 😆

My MVP for this brawl has to be Isgald Vorst. I used him in more than half of my fights!

Great post. Isgald Vorst seems to be a nice card.

it doesn't work too well together with Lurker though. Cause it is faster than Lurker so sometime it just clear the shield and Lurker finish the job instead of him...
