SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! LIFE SAPPER
Life Sapper is a 3 Mana Death rare unit whose strength lies in its ability Life Leech ability. Below is her full stats from Level 1 to 10.
At level 1, it has a speed of 2 with 1 magic attack and 2 HP. Its weakness is its speed and low health but if you are able to keep it protected, it will becomes a strong tank because it is gaining health every time it damage the enemy health.
By the time it reached level 4, it will have 2 magic attack and 3 speed which makes it more deadly.
At its max level, Life Sapper will also gain the Redemption ability which means when Life Sapper died, it will does 1 damage to every opposing enemy units.
Next lets take a look at how Life Sapper will perform in the various rulesets:
Rulesets | Life Sapper |
🔮 Mana: 3,💗 Health: 2,🛡️ Armor: 0,⏩ Speed: 2 | |
👍Generally not very helpful unless facing an opponent with Phase. | |
👍Good for Life Sapper as it needs whatever protection it can get to keep it alive in the early rounds. | |
👎Life Sapper is useless without Life Leech ... | |
👍Can be deployed. | |
No effect. | |
👎Very bad as Life Sapper as it will die fast from Earthquake damage. | |
👍Now Life Sapper has the same health as everyone while able to gain more health later. | |
👎Bad. Life Sapper will be targeted early on due to low health. | |
👎Cannot be deployed. | |
👍Great if you can keep it alive early. Life Sapper is able to leech more health due to blast damage. | |
👍Can be deployed. | |
👍Remove one of the bigger threat, Snipe, that usually can kill off Life Sapper fast. | |
👍Means Life Leech is more valuable in battle. | |
No effect. | |
👍Needed whatever protection it can get. | |
👍Can be deployed. | |

👍Can be deployed. | |
👎Added danger to Life Sapper as it can be quickly taken out in a Snipe ruleset. | |
No effect as Life Sapper has no armor in the first place. | |
👎Cannot be deployed. |
Finally lets take a look at a modern ranked match I had using Life Sapper as one of the unit in the setup. The battle restrictions are:
Fog of War and Keep Your Distance with a max mana limit of 34. The Video for the Full Battle can be seen here:
https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_8b07e674cf63bc8628dae6af9b6f8ab3&ref=genming
TEAM SETUP:
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Quix the Devious | 4 | Summoner | Chose Quix because it is my highest summoner and is suited for a non-melee battle. |
Djinn Muirat | 9 | 1st | There is only magic or ranged attack in this battle. Since Quix has taken care of reducing ranged damage, I need to worry more on magic. Djinn Muirat has void armor that will block magic attack for a while. |
Void Dragon | 5 | 2nd | Void Dragon is my 2nd tank and again it was to prevent against magic attack as Void Dragon has Void ability to reduce magic damage. |
Venari Bonesmith | 4 | 3rd | Bonesmith is used here as a potential 3rd tank if needed. It has Life Leech and will gain in health if battle is a long one. |
Life Sapper | 3 | 4th | Life Sapper is here to serve as the same function as Bonesmith. It also has life leech. |
Soul Strangler | 3 | 5th | DPS ranged unit with very low health but it is well protected except against opportunity unit. |
Supply Runner | 6 | 6th | Added Supply Runner at the back to add more DPS and also give +1 speed to the entire team. |
Total Mana: | 34 |
Battle Lineup:
My opponent went with Life with Mother Khala as the summoner. It is strange that General Sloan wasn't the summoner because the entire lineup is almost all ranged.
End of Round 1:
The opponent didn't stand a chance. After the first round, the opponent has lost 2 units while my entire team still have full health.
End of Round 2:
By the end of round 2, the opponent lost another 2 units while I only lost 1 health. But I also gain back 2 hp from Bonesmith and Life Sapper so its game over for the opponent.
It was pretty obvious though who would win before the match start. For one, I have a level 2 Epic summoner against a level 1 rare summoner. But even if it is both level 1, I would have won because my summoner countered his entire ranged lineup by reducing the ranged damage by 1.
KEY STRATEGY
Since melee cannot be used in this battle, I only need to defend against Ranged and Magic. I used Quix to reduce ranged damage and put tanks with magic defense in front.
CONCLUSION ON LIFE SAPPER
I be frank that I don't use Life Sapper much. This is because most of the time I prefer to use Venari Bonesmith instead just because it has a slightly higher health and poison later. However in certain rulesets like Explosive Weaponry, Life Sapper is great as it can gain more health very quickly and it costs 1 less mana to summon than Bonesmith.
So keep it around for low mana matches.
