Social Media Challenge

Its been a long while since I posted a blog on Brawl battles and my guild leader is asking for more blogs. As a guild (The Guild of Kingshaven), we have more or less settled down in battling in tier 2 brawl now.

Regarding this brawl, I have joined a bronze level fray with all cards usable. This is my first time playing "all cards usable" in brawl. Usually I only played in brawl battles where only CL cards are usable.

In Splinterlands, all battles are given some random rulesets and mana so we have to quickly decide on what units to use and where to place them on the fly. Details of these rulesets descriptions can be found here.

There were 9 battles for me in this brawl and below are the video of each of the battles. As there are too many battles, I would just give some brief description on some of the more interesting ones:

Battle 1 - Ruleset Up to Eleven, Taking Sides and Explosive Weaponry (32 Mana): WON

It took me a while to decide on which splinter to go with in this brawl and I decided Earth because I wanted to make use of the new Martyr ability and Explosive ruleset make it easy to do that. I was also hoping to make use of Katrelba Gobson sneak ability to quickly grow crazily strong.

Seeing the new legendary Death summoner in brawl battle was a surprise for me. I hardly came across this new summoner in normal ranked battle nor ever in a brawl before. As you can see from the fight, Fungus Flinger died quickly from blast damage and upgraded my Mycelic Slipspawn and Mushroom Seer who quickly cut through the opponent frontline. Unfortunately my Gobson didn't land a single hit during the first round but it show why the new Death summoner is powerful. Giving Dodge to every unit makes it so much harder to be hit. Gobson did start to land its hit in the 2nd round and from there it became unstoppable.

Battle 2 - Ruleset Weak Magic, Broken Arrow and Equal Opportunity (20 Mana) - WON

Battle 3 - Rulesets Wands Out, Aim True and Aimless (20 Mana): LOST

Battle 4 - Rulesets Lost Magic, Aim True and Earthquake (18 Mana): LOST

Battle 5 - Ruleset Armored Up, Heavy Hitter and Stampede (26 Mana): LOST

My strategy for this brawl was simple. I went with Possibilus as the summoner because Stampede was one of the ruleset and Possibilus gives every unit Trample. So I intended to use and grow the gladiator, Isgald Vorst, into a crazy monster and roll through the opponent lineup. I wasn't prepare to face high health points monster as well as this is not a high mana match.

Boy was I shocked when I saw the opponent put out Kraken. I forgotten this was a "all card usable" match... Ended up a loss here.

Battle 6 - Rulesets Close Range, Noxious Fumes and Odd Ones Out (27 Mana): WON

Another match where I made used of Martyr. Can go in and take a look at what happened.

Battle 7 - Rulesets No Ruleset(26 Mana): WON

Remember in Battle 5 where I got owned by the opponent's Kraken? Well I decided to use the same tactics and owned someone else. Hahaha...

Battle 8 - Rulesets Wands Out, Fog of War and Holy Protection (17 Mana): WON

Battle 9 - Rulesets Broken Arrows, Counterspell and Healed Out (34 Mana): WON

image.png

I totally screwed up in this brawl and yet stil won. I actually forgotten there is Counterspell ruleset in the match and put up a almost full magic lineup... I really should be losing this match but Xulax Nightwind pulled me through.

6 Wins out of 9 battles is a great result for me especially when this is a new Fray that I am trying out. The rewards are great too.

Overall we did quite well in this brawl. Coming in 3rd in tier 2 is not easy and it is very rewarding.

We constantly haven't been able to put up a full team for the brawl though so am looking for players to help fill up some frays. You don't have to be very good in battling, just be a team player and help build up the guild together. If you are interested, here is the link. Who knows? You might get a Runi assigned to you!:

I liked game 9. First time I see a legendary gladiator in battle.

The Fire splinter legendary gladiator is quite good as well. But they all still can't beat Quora...
