PERSONAL OPINION: ORC SARGEANT

Hello fellow Splinterlands lovers!! Today I want to give my personal perspective about Orc Sargeant, a Common Earth Unit from the Untamed Edition that nowadays appear as an starter card for all of us.

DESIGN AND LORE:

From the aesthetic perspective, I like the card because the Orc looks threatening and ruthless. the Lore is accurate and i like it:

"The Lyverian army has found that troops are best trained by an Orc. Their ugliness scares recruits into line, and they are always shouting and snarling, even when calm. Orcs and their families are well rewarded in seed coins for their service to the Kingdom of Lyveria."

STATS:

From my perspective, the Reach ability has become useless compared to the new abilities we can see today. Also is a Unit that cost 5 of Mana cap but in Level 1 just have 1 of Meele attack, which for me it do not worth it.

If we talk about Speed and Health is decent in Level 1 (with 2 and 6 respectibly), but I would prefer to use REGAL PERYTON in battle than Orc Sargeant because of the Flying ability and having Magic Attack.

Even more, if you got money you can buy JAVELIN THROWER,SPIRIT DRUID GROG or MUSHROOM SEER that has more useful abilities. But to not put all negative comments about Orc Sargeant, I got to say that in Level 6 it adquire Inspire, that is a pretty cool ability to use with other Earth units with Meele attack like GOBLIN THIEF,UNICORN MUSTANG or MYCELIC INFANTRY.

MARKET VALUE

As I making this post, the Price of the card is $0.59, being more expensive than cards I find more powerful like REGAL PERYTON($0.39), SILENT SHA-VI($0.13) or DEEPLURKER($0.29), cards I would buy before Sargeant Orc.

CONCLUSION

I´m not a big fan of Orc Sargeant. When I have to use Earth I don´t even think of use it in battle. Too Mana cost, few Meele attack and Reach ability has not aged well nowadays.

I got to say I agree, I don't normally won't use this card, Even using reach I find better cards than this. Back when it came out it was likely a better card but the new metas are way better

I find that Reach can be useful in a low mana card, but I definitely agree that for 5 mana, this card is not worth it. Plus because it's a melee monster, it doesn't even protect the card behind it from Snipe.
