Analysis --> 23rd full season in Splinterlands - Rewards and Stats for my main and alt accounts (Finally Hit the SPS Jackpot :-) )

The end of the 14th season of the new rewards system has come. Here's what I got from my 50 Diamond chests (Expected Value: $7.14 --> Actual Value: $80.46!):
  • 99 Alchemy Potions;
  • 63 Legendary Potions;
  • 3,023.41 SPS;
  • a total of 20 cards; 1 GF common;
  • 3,604 merits;
  • 1 pack;

Last season I hit the absolute bottom in terms of reward value so I thought it could not get any worse this time around. And not only was I right but I actually got the biggest reward so far in my modest SPL career - a total of 3K SPS! My previous best reward was a GF Oshannus but this has 2x the value. I am very happy about this but it also shows how luck-dependent the current reward system is. So last time I had 49 chests and the actual value was less than $2.00 and now with 50 chests I have an AV of 80 bucks. That's a huge difference. Maybe they could do something to fix these outliers.

This is my 10th complete season in Gold league (with a jump into Diamond III/II) and I am pleased with the amount of chests I earned, especially having in mind that I was earning Diamond Season chests in Gold. I got into Diamond league a few days earlier than last season this time. I actually was beneficial I think at least in terms of chests.

And here's the summary for the whole season - 87 Diamond Chests and 72 Gold Chests (total value: $88.11):

  • 1 pack;

  • 63 cards - 2 epics; 2 GF rares; 2 GF commons;
  • 4,542 Merits;
  • 227 Alchemy Potions;
  • 163 Legendary Potions;
  • 154.69 SPS from Battles; (EV: $3.95)
Naturally with the jackpot present in the season rewards the season as a whole was definitely saved and all is well, however, you can tell that had I not gotten extremely lucky, I would have had another rather mediocre season. Just 1 pack is outrageous if you ask me .

As I have already mentioned my Gold deck is still work in progress. However, I have recently managed to get a few more of the most played legendaries to rank 3, and I can say I am actually done for the time being as far as the legendaries are concerned. But I was a bit too quick to jump into Diamond I guess but even before that my win rate in Gold was below 50%. I find that pretty amusing because I do significantly better in most tourneys I enter. So... I have recently been wondering why that is and there is only one obvious explanation to me and that is... bots..

I did sign up for as many tourneys as possible, however, when I switched to Gold most of the silver tourneys and all of the bronze ones became unplayable for me due to the restrictive pricing for Gold level players. I had a few good placements this season.

I've received a total of 56 cards. Exactly the same amount as last season.

I've earned a decent amount of SPS from playing as far as I am concerned even though I feel the SPS per win in Gold got a slight nerf when the latest proposal went live.

The SPS report just does not look sexy when the airdrop is no longer on it but oh well.. it is what it is. I did earn some SPS from staking (mostly thanks to the 1/2 Node I have acquired but keep in my account) but that's nothing compared to the 1000 SPS airdrop I had in my last report before the airdrop ended.

My rental report looks pretty good thanks to the service provided by Splex.gg. I'm renting only a few cards right now cause I have delegated most of my duplicates to a friend of mine whom I got to start playing the game recently. Not touching anything from my main deck though so about 2,767.20 DEC from the few cards is pretty nice, having in mind the rental market was rather dead for most of the season at least for the cards I'm renting out.

Let's see how the new system treats the poor ol'ex-Bronze players or in this case my poor ex-Bronze now more-so Silver alt account.😁 Here's the breakdown of the screenshot containing 61 Gold Chests (EV: $3.41 -> AV: $5.31):
  • 35 Legendary Potions;
  • 68 Alchemy Potions;
  • 21.02 SPS;
  • a total of 19 cards; 0 legs; 3 epics;
  • 439 Merits;
  • 2 packs;

My actual value is about $2 higher than the EV so I am satisfied with the result.

Let's have a look at my total earnings for the whole season on this account for 145 Gold chests and 37 Silver for a total of $14.47.

  • 77.93 SPS;
  • 52 cards - 0 legendaries, 1 epic;
  • 1455 Merits;
  • 138 Legendary potions;
  • 188 Alchemy potions;
  • 3 packs;
  • 77.92 SPS from Battles (EV: $2.01)

Again the EV for this amount of chests is $8.92 and I got $5.50 more than that so that's great in my humble opinion.

I basically started playing in Silver and did not spend any time in Bronze this time. I jumped into Gold III earlier than last season and I seemed to fare better this time.
