Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - Armored Up (ENG/ITA)

Hello to all friends of Splinterlands!!!

Like all new card editions, even the Rebellion will bring the introduction of new abilities that we will need to study carefully to exploit them to the fullest, trying to win on the battlefield by anticipating the moves of our opponents. The new abilities are 4: Armored Strike, Corrosive Ward, Flank, and Lookout. You can read this post to discover all the rules and characteristics of these abilities, which promise to disrupt the game mechanics.

Obviously, like any novelty, it takes some time to digest the changes, and indeed, I see that players are still somewhat anchored to old gaming patterns. Meanwhile, this week we are participating in the Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge.

Armored Up: all monsters receive a +2 in Armor, protecting them even more from Melee and Ranged attacks, and if the Void Armor ability is used, even Magical attacks are forced to hit the Armor first. Abilities like Piercing and Shatter can become very useful in these challenges. At first glance, you might feel like choosing a team based on magical attacks, but it's not always a winning choice.

A very high Mana Cap of 49, and, in addition to Armored Up, we have the rulesets Aim True and Super Sneak, which also favor the choice of a team based on melee attacks.

As mentioned earlier, I opted for a typical magic-based team, with Obsidian as the summoner, but in the Tank position, a very heavy Melee monster, Terraceous Hulk, followed by a classic Earth element formation with Mycelic Slipspawn, Kron the Undying, Wood Nymph, Goblin Psychic, and finally, Mushroom Seer.

Instead, my opponent chose a team entirely based on melee attacks, with summoner Lyanna Natura and Pelacor Mercenary in the Tank position, followed by Arkemis the Bear, Brownie, Grund, Mycelic Infantry, and Dumacke Orc.

I thought I had found the antidote against the Armored Up ruleset by choosing almost all magical monsters, but my opponent was able to make the most of the rulesets, especially Super Sneak, bringing into battle a super team with a total devastating Melee attack points: just think that Grund, with his Double Strike, dealt a devastating 8-point damage each turn, and my monsters couldn't withstand the blows, and already by Round 3, it was clear that the challenge was lost.

Ciao a tutti amici di Splinterlands !!!

Come tutte le nuove edizioni di carte , anche quella Rebellion porterà con sè l'introduzione di nuove abilità, che dovremo studiare con attenzione per sfruttarle al meglio, cercando di vincere sul campo di battaglia, anticipando le mosse dei nostri avversari.
Le nuove abilità sono 4 : Armored Strike, Corrosive Ward, Flank e Lookout , e potete leggere questo post per scoprire tutte le regole e caratteristiche di queste abilità, che promettono di scombussolare i meccanismi di gioco.

Ovviamente, come ogni novità, c'è bisogno di un po' di tempo per digerire i cambiamenti, e infatti vedo che i giocatori sono ancora un po' ancorati ai vecchi schemi di gioco: intanto, partecipiamo anche questa settimana al Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge.

Armored Up: tutti i mostri ricevono un +2 in Armor, proteggendoli ancora di più dagli attachi Melee e Ranged, e , se si usa l'abilità Void Armor, anche gli attacchi Magici sono costretti a colpire prima l'Armor.
Le abilità come Piercing e Shatter possono diventare molto utili in queste sfide.
A primo impatto , può venir voglia di scegliere una squadra basata sugli attacchi magici, ma non sempre è una scelta vincente.

Un Mana Cap molto alto di 49, e , oltre ad Armored Up, abbiamo i rulesets Aim True e Super Sneak, che favoriscono molto anche la scelta di una squadra basata sugli attacchi melee.

Come detto in precedenza, mi sono orientato su una tipica squadra basata sulla Magia, con Obsidian come evocatore, ma in posizione Tank un pesantissimo mostro Melee, Terraceous Hulk, seguito da una classica formazione dell'elemento Earth, con Mycelic Slipspawn, Kron the Undying, Wood Nymph, Goblin Psychic, e per finire, Mushroom Seer.

Invece il mio avversario ha scelto una squadra totalmente basata sugli attacchi melee , con evocatore Lyanna Natura, e Pelacor Mercenary in posizione Tank, e a seguire Arkemis the Bear, Brownie ,Grund, Mycelic Infantry e Dumacke Orc.

Pensavo di aver trovato l'antidoto contro il ruleset Armored Up, scegliendo quasi tutti mostri magici, ma il mio avversario ha saputo sfruttare al meglio i rulesets, soprattutto Super Sneak, portando in battaglia una super squadra con un totale di punti attacco Melee devastante: basti pensare che Grund, con il suo Double Strike, infliggeva un devastante danno di 8 punti ad ogni turno, e i miei mostri non sono riusciti a reggere i colpi, e già verso il Round 3 , si capiva che la sfida era persa.
