Splinterlands- Slen Slatehelm (ENG/ITA)

Hello everyone, Splinterlands friends!!!

It’s been a while since I last wrote an article about Splinterlands. Despite this not being a particularly exciting period for the crypto world, I’m still playing both Ranked matches and Brawls with my Guild, as well as farming and keeping my lands active.

As I was saying, starting with Bitcoin, things are not going very well in terms of crypto prices: BTC is struggling to even stay above $70k, a value that feels extremely far from the ATH of last October at $125k, and all the other altcoins are following the same trend, with some losing even more.

Hive is performing poorly as well, getting closer to its ATL (All Time Low), while DEC and SPS are holding up better and seem, at least for now, more resilient—even though the downward spiral can be felt pretty much everywhere in the cryptoverse.

Anyway, today I thought: let’s spend some Glint and grab a few Legendary Reward cards.

And I found this Legendary card, Sten Slatehelm, which I had never seen before: a Water element monster from the Dwarf bloodline. It costs only 2 mana, but already at level 1 it offers 1 Ranged attack, 3 Speed, Armor, and 4 Health, along with the Close Range ability.

At level 2, the first dilemma of this card appears: yes, it goes up to 2 Ranged and 5 Health, but unfortunately it also gains the debilitation called Reckless, which inflicts -1 to adjacent teammates for every successful attack.

Then, at levels 3 and 4, it gains the Armored Strike and Resurgence abilities respectively, all for a price of about $4.8 per card.

A light and fast match with a fairly low Mana Cap of just 26 points and the Counterspell ruleset, so both my opponent and I chose the same archon, Marlai Singariel.

I placed Sea Dog of Eight in the first position, followed by Gramel The Hunger, Slen Slatehelm, and finally Elanor Bravefoot, while my opponent chose Halfling Refugee as the tank, followed by Aimee Whisperwind, Vengeful Monk, and Mar Toren Trader.

In the end, I managed to secure the victory, also thanks to the solid performance of Slen Slatehelm, who really offers great stats for such a low cost of just 2 mana.

However, the big dilemma remains: is it worth upgrading Slen to level 2 and therefore giving it the Reckless debilitation?

At first glance, I’d almost say it’s not worth upgrading it, and it’s better to keep it at level 1 as a “filler” card in case we have 2 extra mana available to complete the team.

Ciao a tutti amici di Splinterlands !!!

È un po' di tempo che non scrivevo un articolo su Splinterlands, nonostante il periodo non certo entusiasmante per il mondo crypto, sto continuando a giocare sia le partite Ranked che le Brawls con la mia Guild, sia a coltivare e tenere attive le mie lands.

Come dicevo, a partire da Bitcoin le cose non stanno andando molto bene a livello di quotazioni crypto: BTC sta lottando per stare addirittura sopra i 70k$, cifra che sembra lontanissima dall'ATH di Ottobre dell'anno scorso a 125k$, e tutte le altre alt coins stanno seguendo a ruota, alcune perdendo anche di più.

Male sta andando Hive, che si sta avvicinando al ATL (All Time Low), mentre DEC e SPS tengono botta e sembrano, almeno per adesso, più resistente, anche se la Downward Spyral si sente un po' dappertutto ormai nel cryptoverse.

Comunque, oggi ho detto, spendiamo qualche Glint, e prendiamoci qualche carta Rewards leggendaria.

Ed ho trovato questa carta leggendaria, Sten Slatehelm, che non avevo visto prima d'ora: mostro dell'elemento Water e della bloodline Dwarf, costa solo 2 di mana, ma offre già, al livello 1, 1 di Ranged, 3 di Speed e Armor e 4 di Health, con l'abilità Close Range.

Al secondo livello, si presenta il primo dilemma di questa carta: perchè sì, sale a 2 di Ranged e 5 di Health, ma si becca anche, purtroppo, la Debilitation di nome Reckless, che infligge -1 ai compagni di squadra adiacenti per ogni attacco portato con successo.

E , successivamente, al terzo e al quarto livello ottiene, in ordine, le abilità Armored Strike e Resurgence, tutto questo per una quotazione di circa 4,8$ per carta.

Sfida leggera e veloce con un Mana Cap abbastanza basso di solo 26 punti, e con il ruleset Counterspell, per cui sia io che il mio avversario abbiamo scelto lo stesso archon, ovvero Marlai Singariel, però io ho messo nella prima posizione Sea Dog of Eight, seguito da Gramel The Hunger, Slen Slatehelm e per finire Elanor Bravefoot, mentre il mio avversario ha scelto Halfling Refugee come Tank, seguito da Aimee Whisperwind, Vengeful Monk e Mar Toren Trader.

Alla fine sono riuscito a portare la vittoria a casa, anche grazie al buon lavoro di Slen Slatehelm, che offre veramente delle buone stats per un costo così basso di 2 mana.

Però rimane il grande dilemma: conviene potenziare Slen al secondo livello, infliggendoli così la debilitation Reckless?

Ad un primo sguardo, direi quasi che non conviene potenziarlo, ed è meglio tenerlo così, al livello 1, come "tappabuchi" nel caso che abbiamo 2 mana disponibili extra da riempire in squadra.
