Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Gonach Excavator (Eng/Ita)

I truly hope you are spending these holidays in the best possible way, with family, friends, good food, and why not, a few battles on Splinterlands as well. After all, carving out a moment for a ranked match, a tournament, or simply organizing your deck is one of those small pleasures that make the holidays even more enjoyable.

As often happens during special times of the year, Splinterlands has also decided to dress up for the occasion. Some graphical details have been updated to recall the Christmas atmosphere, giving the platform that extra touch that immediately says “holiday spirit”. This is certainly nothing new, over time we have become used to seeing the game transform during particular events, and how could we forget the skins, items, and special environments of Halloween? This year as well, the tradition continues, and it is nice to see how the team manages to keep this connection between the real world calendar and the game world alive.

But Christmas on Splinterlands is not just about lights and virtual decorations. In these weeks, there is also a renewed enthusiasm thanks to the introduction of Avatars and Exemplars, a new feature that opens up new paths for customization. Finally, every player can build an even more recognizable identity, something that goes beyond a simple nickname or leaderboard rating. It is an important step toward an increasingly rich and “personal” platform, where you can truly feel part of a unique community.

In this week’s Splinterlands Social Media Challenge, we talk about a monster from the new Conclave Arcana edition that, strangely enough, I had not talked about before, because it is a card that is often encountered and has many use cases. I am talking about Gonach Excavator, a common card of the Death element and the Rodentian bloodline. At level one, it has 1 Armor and 2 Health, Speed, and Melee, along with the Sneak ability, all for a mana cost of just 3. Unfortunately, it is also affected by a heavy debilitation, Reckless, which means that every successful attack made by Gonach also deals 1 damage to its adjacent teammates.

In the subsequent upgrades, its stats increase, but it does not gain any new abilities.

The current market price is around 0.02 dollars, which makes it an easy monster to level up, and also very easy to summon, considering it is a common rarity card.

In this battle with a Mana Cap of 52 and no modifiers, I relied on one of my favorite teams, choosing Lorkus as the archon, and placing Chaos Golem in the Tank position, followed by Barashkukor, Gramel The Hunger, Rush Townsend, Gonach Excavator, and finally Elanor Bravefoot.

My opponent, on the other hand, selected the archon Marlai Singariel, placing Commander Slade in the first position, followed by Arcane Skinwalker, Saltwater Mage, Mindless Thrall, Mystic Scaleweaver, and finally Mar Toren Trader.

My opponent’s hope was probably to use the Headwinds ability of their Mar Toren Trader card to apply a reduction of 1 to all ranged attacks of my team. However, this only worked at the beginning, because this card did not last long in the last position, and my monsters managed to reach victory quite easily.

Gonach Excavator is a card that I often see on the battlefield, and I understand why. Even though it is simply a common card, its cost to benefit ratio is very convenient, always keeping in mind the need to counterbalance its Reckless debilitation. This can be done by placing it in the last position, or by deploying monsters with very high Health values around it, so they can absorb the damage caused by Reckless without the risk of being knocked out.

Ciao a tutti amici di Splinterlands !

Spero davvero che stiate passando queste feste nel migliore dei modi: tra famiglia, amici, buon cibo… e perché no, anche qualche battaglia su Splinterlands. In fondo, ritagliarsi un momento per una ranked, un torneo o semplicemente per sistemare il proprio deck è uno di quei piccoli piaceri che rendono le vacanze ancora più piacevoli.

Come spesso accade nei periodi speciali dell’anno, anche Splinterlands ha deciso di vestirsi a festa. Alcuni dettagli grafici sono stati aggiornati per richiamare l’atmosfera natalizia, regalando alla piattaforma quel tocco in più che fa subito “spirito delle feste”. Non è certo una novità: nel tempo ci siamo abituati a vedere il gioco trasformarsi durante eventi particolari, e come dimenticare le skin, gli item e le ambientazioni speciali di Halloween? Anche quest’anno la tradizione continua, ed è bello vedere come il team riesca a mantenere vivo questo legame tra il calendario reale e il mondo di gioco.

Ma il Natale di Splinterlands non è fatto solo di luci e decorazioni virtuali. In queste settimane si respira anche un rinnovato entusiasmo grazie all’introduzione degli Avatar e degli Exemplar, una novità che apre nuove strade alla personalizzazione. Finalmente ogni giocatore può costruire un’identità ancora più riconoscibile, qualcosa che vada oltre il semplice nickname o il rating in classifica. È un passo importante verso una piattaforma sempre più ricca e “personale”, dove sentirsi davvero parte di una community unica.

Nello Splinterlands Social Media Challenge di questa settimana, parliamo di un mostro della nuova edizione Conclave Arcana di cui stranamente non avevo parlato, perchè è una carta che si incontra spesso e che possiede molti casi d'uso: sto parlando di Gonach Excavator, carta comune dell'elemento Death e della bloodline Rodentian, al primo livello detiene 1 di Armor e 2 di Health, Speed e Melee, e l'abilità Sneak, e tutto questo per il costo in termini di mana di solo 3, ma purtroppo è afflitto anche da una pesante debilitation, Reckless, per cui ogni attacco sferrato con successo da parte di Gonach, infligge anche un danno di 1 ai propri compagni di squadra adiacenti.

Nei potenziamenti successivi aumenta le proprie stats, ma non ottiene alcuna nuova abilità.

La quotazione attuale di mercato si colloca intorno allo 0,02 $ , il che lo rende un mostro facile da potenziare, e molto facile da poter evocare, visto che si tratta di una carta di rarità comuna.

In questa battaglia dal Mana Cap di 52 e con nessun modifier, mi sono affidato ad una delle mi squadre preferite, scegliendo Lorkus come archon, e mettendo Chaos Golem in posizione Tank, seguito da Barashkukor, Gramel The Hunger, Rush Townsend, Gonach Excavator, e , per finire, Elanor Bravefoot.

Il mio avversario , invece, ha selezionato l'archon Marlai Singariel, mettendo Commander Slade in prima posizione, seguito da Arcane Skinwalker, Saltwater Mage, Mindless Thrall, Mystic Scaleweaver, e per finire, Mar Toren Trader.

La speranza del mio avversario era forse di usare l'abilità Headwinds della sua carta Mar Toren Trader, per infliggere un -1 a tutti gli attacchi ranged della mia squadra, però questo ha funzionato solo all'inizio, perchè questa sua carta è durata molto poco nell'ultima posizione, e i miei mostri sono arrivati agilmente alla vittoria.

Gonach Excavator è una carta che vedo spesso sul campo di battaglia, e capisco il perchè: pur essendo semplicemente una carta comune, il suo rapporto costo/benefici è molto conveniente, tenendo sempre conto di dover controbilanciare la sua debilitation Reckless, che si può fare mettendolo in ultima posizione, oppure schierando intorno a lui mostri con punteggi molto alti di Health per poter incassare il -1 inflitto da Reckless senza il rischio di finire al tappeto.
