This Golem Is My Pet

I play the Earth splinter a lot since I bought Mylor Crowing several weeks ago. Under certain circumstances, he’s unbeatable – unless you face another Mylor Crowing on your opponent’s side. Anyways, Stone Golem becomes an extremely powerful tank while played with this summoner. Yes, it still lacks speed and causes almost no damage itself but Thorns and Shield combo makes it deadly. And when it is backed by Wood Nymph, rather shitty healer on its own, it could survive for ages. Alas, magic attacks are still a huge threat, especially when playing against Alric Storbringer and without Mushroom Seer.

This particular battle had special ruleset – all monsters gained Enrage ability. Using healers in such games could be tricky as healed monsters lose Enrage bonuses. Yet I used Wood Nymph and it turned out to be a good idea at the end of the day. Besides of it, I chose Earth Elemental which is a great secondary tank when I play Mylor Crowing – 6 hp for 3 mana. He usually blocks most of the Snipe attacks and protect my Nymph. My last pick was Khmer Princess. Just because I ended up with only 2 mana left and I wanted a magic attacker as I thought I would face Living Lava as a tank.

The battle was very close as my opponent’s monsters became incredibly strong with the +1 melee and Enrage buffs. My non-magic attacks were totally useless so I relied on Wood Nymph and Thorn buff only. On the other hand, none of them ever fails, so it was sort of a sure bet. My Wood Nymph remained the last (wo)man standing, but that’s fair enough for a decisive victory in the world of Splinterlands.

My rating of Stone Golem

As the headline suggests, I consider Stone Golem to be a great card. However, it works only as a combo with Mylor, it is rather worthless with another summoners. So my rating is biased in the way that I know how to actually use it. However, he dies before he could even strike when facing magic-based attackers. Mylor Crowing isn’t the one who should face those either, though.

Mana vs. Power ratio: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Low-mana cap games: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Mid-mana cap games ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ★
High-mana cap games: ⭐⭐ ★ ★ ★
Worth buying*: ⭐⭐⭐ ★ ★

*Stone Golem is among the starter cards, so you don’t actually need to buy it unless you want to level it up. At level 5, it gets Heal ability and becomes even more powerful.
