In The Challenge Challenge this week we got to use a fun new card Deeplurker. This card combined with Kelya and Feasting Seaweed is a lot of fun and a deadly combo. This team-up is seen a lot as opportunity can just wreak a team. There are some tricks to get around it but still, it tends to give you an advantage. Fast attackers that target weak guys can just change the fight for sure. Deeplurker is geat card so let's break him down a bit.

For 6 mana he is a card that will show up more in mana fights above 20. The game does seem to be heading to a high mana game. That is why I don't work about it. Right off the bat even at level 1, he has the opportunity skill. Making him a hunter for those lower HP monsters. Hist first level up that matters is 4 as he picks up one more attack point. He would be at a silver level then and that helps with debuffs and making sure he can deal at least 2 to a shielded tank if not 3 if you can buff him up. Then when it gets into gold add poison. That is a nice skill in case you run into armor on the first attack or just don't finish someone off. Well, now you have a shot to still deal damage or kill them off at the start of the next round. It is also fun to sometimes see that poison living on past the Deeplurker. In upper levels, he gets up to 5 damage and if you max him out you pick up demoralize. That is a fun skill on this card because he will be used a lot in Melee-only matches and the can debuff the other team and still attack from anywhere. Overall he goes from a pretty slow guy to a solid 4 speed. Also, he is a monster meant to be played with Kelya so he should always be a bit quicker than the card seems. Now to check out my battle.

The Line Up
2022-02-20 12_28_35-Splinterlands - Collect, Trade, Battle!.png

This match is Blast and Stampede and big 50 mana. Stampede isn't a big deal down here in silver 3 but can pop up. I went for a fast front line with armor in my lineup. That is why I played Keylya and Venari Wavesmith. I tossed Flying Squid and Baakjira next to be ready to absorb a lot of Blast Damage. The Smith went next for the armor boost and some magic damage. Then the Deeplurker to do those hits that will often hit 3 guys thanks to blast. Then with the high mana, I ended with the giant mage Nerissa Tridawn. Overall this lineup focus on the first position but with Deeplurker there to target weak guys or finish off a tank we leave low.

My opponent went for a line but a bit like mine but with some smaller cards. In this battle, he might just not have had the cards to really battle back but was fun to show you two DeepLurkers Running around. You can watch the full battle replay here

Round 1

Now let's talk about how round one will go. The slow on the Baakjira means that I will attack first on the mirror fighters but he did weaken all my melee attackers. Was that worth putting a monster on the board that can't attack? Maybe but in a blast game, I say no. He does have a flying monster with 1 health that my deep lurker could miss. Yet my magic damage should make sure that we get their Serpent of Eld down and might live as most hits will land one armor if I can get a dodge. I was feeling pretty good but knew that some bad luck could make me miss a few attacks and in a blast game that is huge. Let's check out how it went.

Round 2

My Eld dodged one key attack. Supply Runner could have taken off my armor and then I would have died. I had no misses but he had just enough armor to also survive. My Flight squid has that one extra HP that could matter a lot. I do think that the next round will start to prove out my cards are going to carry the match. I should have my Serpent of Eld kill his and then while he will die I will take out a few more of their team. As all my guys will attack first it will clear out a few guys for sure.

Round 3
2022-02-20 12_29_34-Splinterlands - Collect, Trade, Battle!.png

As you can see the battle is just about over. My Deeplurker ended landing a finishing blow to the Flying Squid. My mages fell a little short from finishing off the Disintegrator and supply runner and they did have a nice counter with all of them landing blows that also killed my Eld and Flying Squid. Yet now I am set up to kill both of them both before they will attack and then they just won't have enough to fight back.

Round 4

The final round is just a victory lap for me. He is left with just a Deepluker on the board that would be fast enough to attack.

It was a nice solid win for my team. My account is still grinding down in here silver 3 hoping to get more power of my own so I can push up to silver 2 soon. But being able to share these battles helps a lot. Make sure you sign up while packs are still on sale because they won't last forever.
