The Disintegrator is a new Chaos common card that a lot of players might overlook. But he is very useful in a lot of battles. I am glad to see the team use these cards in the share your battle challenge. It lets a lot see that a card they might not have been using can win you games. Let us Take a look at the card first. The Disintegrator is a 7 cost melee monster with demoralize right away. Once you level him up his damage, health, and armor all increase to keep him in line with his league. He does pick up Trample in silver and knockout for gold and retaliate if you max him out. The card is always slow so he is a good one for reverse speed. But he is also good in any match where melee monsters will be a bulk of what is on the board. Most of the time I would say no to putting a card on the board that can't attack the board but this one can work. If you put him last he has armor and will debuff and a lot of sneak guys taking a lot of hits. Combo that with a front-line tank with shield and maybe the other team can't hurt your tank. That happens a lot more in lower leagues. He can also be used in any spot just as a demoralize lineup. This can work in Melee Mayhem or super sneak. He can also be used as your tank if no one better is around and can last pretty well if there are no big mages on the other teams. Now let's get into my battle.

The Line Up

This battle was close range and had no healing. I went for a Sloan lineup with some good archers but decided to pull an off-tank idea. I put the Disintegrator first with the Shield Bearer in the last spot to draw fire. The hope was if they went sneak I would weaken them and my archers would kill a lot of them before the Shieldbearer dies. If they went ranged the same idea. If they went mage it wouldn't work as well but at least the fire would be on him. I also went with splash damage and a sniper hoping to kill some back row guys also. Now my idea seemed to get countered as I ran into a lot of mages but I would weaken his one sneak monster and tank. And they put a guy of a tank that just sits there for a while that might be a big mistake. You can watch the battle here but let's break down what happened.

Round 1

Now you can see the buffs in place and things look better and worse for me. That is a lot of magic damage. I did buff up my hp a bit but one mistake I see now is that I am pretty slow. That could be a problem with the Unicorn and Peryton. Yet Eight Damage won't kill my shieldbearer. The sneak guy won't break his armor. and I have enough damage to kill the Slipspawn. If I don't miss this first round should go my way. Well, I did miss it. It wasn't super bad as all my attacks hit till the Slipspawn died. But after that, I missed my snipe shot on the Peryton and my Disintegrator miss his swing on the Unicorn and that leads us into this board for round 2.

Round 2

The debuff did work pretty well I still have armor to absorb an attack this round but my Shield Bearer is going down first. But he did his job taking a lot of attacks. After that, if I can land my attacks the Uniror should die. Then maybe I can even get a hit off on the second tank that is just waiting to join the fight. Overall I felt pretty good as they didn't have enough damage to kill anyone else. But not everything worked out as speed was still an issue for me and I missed the shot with my Prismoldgist. That was a big miss with 4 damage off the board the Unicorn was going to survive. I did land my sniper shot this round. It is a good thing his sneak monster was so weak after the debuff or this could have started to turn.

Round 3

This was going to be a key round. If my archers missed again I could be in a lot of trouble. The first attacks are going to kill my Disintegrator. He did a good job on the debuffs. I have time to win if I can just hit. In this round my Prismoldgist this and kills off the unicorn and even takes some shield away. That miss last round was big though as I wasted my magic attack. This does set up my Arbalest to land two shots and that new tank and with 2 armor left works perfectly to do some damage to him. I did end up missing my sniper shot and that was big it would have been a kill shot. Did that do me in?

Round 4

In some modes, it might have. But this is the close-range so even though my Renova is about to die the Prismoldgist will attack next and if it hits and the Arbalest to finish him off. He only has one speed and for the first time, I have the advantage to hit. They both hit all 3 shots and that was huge for me as it moves the Peryton to the front. Letting my sniper land a perfect strike on the slow Goblin Psychic killing him before he can attack this round. The sneak monster would take him out right after but it sets up around 5 where I can win if I can hit that Peryton.

A lot of people would say I have this in the bag. He attacks first but I just need to land that one blow to win. Or even just one with the other attacker. Yet if you play this game you know I wasn't sure. That Peryton just likes to ruin your day. Yet this time the Prismoldgist shot true and the match came to an end.

This was a very close match. It seemed like I had an easy win but a few misses set it up so that just a few more might have cost me the match. In the end, the slow secondary tank was a mistake. Any attacker in that spot would have changed the match a lot. I hope you enjoy my post and make sure you sign up to player Splinterlands and earn money while you do it.
