It is time for one of the stronger new cards. The Goblin Psychic is a tank healer and a strong mage that works very well with Obsidian. This card will be a staple of the earth team for a long time. Make sure you check out the Challenge here if you want to take part in this. All new players have access to this card so we should get a chance to see it in a lot of different fights.

First I like to break down the card. As you can see this guy isn't that much at 6 mana but is hard to fit into those really low mana matches. Other than that he is always an option. Earth has a few great tanks so you want hat tank heal for sure. You will have to place him right to avoid an early death. I like to have him in 3rd or 4th position with someone in front that has the same or lower hp. I don't want a first-round opportunity strike to stop him from doing anything. This is more of an issue in bronze and silver as later on Earth can give him armor. At level 4 he gets affliction what a great second skill for a healer. When that works you have a tank heal and they don't. What a combo for one card. Take him up a bit more and add silence. That hit in Gold and diamond is a nice addition as his magic damage stays at 2 but now he will weaken those mages that got more damage for leveling. Then if you can max him out add dispel. Now you have a 4 skill common card on the board that is pretty wild. I am not sure where this guy was hiding but he is now clearly the main healer for Modern and for Wild will make an Earth Team with up to 4 healers.

The Line Up

This was pretty close to a mirror match but a few things should stand out right away. First, there are still a lot of players with level 1 cards in silver 3 this helps me get some extra wins. Then you can also see that I went with a double heal. IN a battle with no archers I knew that a tank with void was a good move and so did he. My second spot was for Regal Peryton with high speed and flying the card is a good second tank. Next was my little Khmer Princess who is there just so that my Gold Psychic doesn't get killed by any opportunity guys before any attacks. His 3 magic damage is big here because he will deal 2 not one to Unicorn Mustang. Next, I went for my Wood Nymph double healing and a mage was the reason for that pick. In my last spot, I put my Mycelic Slipspwan. The goal here was to make sure my tank won the battle up front. With two healers and at most 2 guys hitting him it should work out. Now I ran into a Slipspwan on the other side so that countered my idea a bit. This battle would really come down to the one card that is different he has Elven Mystic who doesn't have his silence yet. Not a good counter to my second healer. You can watch the full replay here

Round 1

This round was going to be a pretty simple one. Both of us have enough mage damage to kill the Slipspawns. The Unicorns will swap hits but both get healer back to full and then we will head into the next round where the fight really gets going.

Round 2

This is where my idea for the double heal is going to really start to show. We both will deal damage but mine will get healed twice. If there are no misses it should put me well ahead. My wood Nymph having 2-speed matters a lot to ensure I get that heal in before those last few mages attack. Everyone is going to take their shots and we end up in round 3.

Round 3

Here you got as you can see he is now down to 5 HP and I am still at 9. This round I am set up to take over the fight for sure. I will kill his Unicorn before a heal gets off and be able to heal mine up at least once then a little bit of random luck will see if his Peryton gets healed or not. It is always nice when you see your plan working out so well.

Round 4

He got a little unlucky as his Goblin went first so I got off a final blow on the Perton getting it down to 3 life. It wouldn't have really mattered because from this point on they don't have the damage to kill my Unicorn. Now it is just going to be finishing off the other team. But it won't be over this round because I am going to land two blows that leave guys at one hp. Cause one monster to make it to round 5.

Round 5

Well, there is the card that ensured my win. If he would have had the double heal could have gone different. But it will just take a few attacks to finish off this match.

This was an easy win but it was because the Goblin was able to do one of the things I talked about before. Add another healer to a team that already has a few good ones. When a fight comes down to which team can kill the other tank. Having extra healers can make the difference for sure. I hope you enjoyed my battle breakdown.
