Tried out Splinterlands

avatar

Hello blockchain world!

Right, sooooo I finally jumped on the bandwagon and tried a few rounds of Splinterlands for the very first time today! Won't lie, there was very little prep that went in. After watching twp YouTube videos I figured why not just give it a go right? So armed with my 20 minutes of YouTube knowledge, I set off to purchase the Summoner's Spellbook. And honestly, there was a real sense of being invested. So yeah, no turning back now!

Well, as you can see from the screenshot - I was obliterated the first two rounds. Thankfully the third time was the charm. I did watch the battles as they occurred, but couldn't quite see the strategy. I guess that comes with learning the game and chatting with others.

My first impression was - the graphics are amazing! I love the detail on the summoners and monsters. Very cool indeed! It certainly looks like it would be something I could spend a lot of time on. What I also noticed was that it's not like other games. There isn't a whole load of info regarding the actual game-play. As a beginner, there was definitely fumbling around in the dark a bit. Most online games provide tutorials that make jumping into a game quite easy. So hey, this is a good change!
A feature I liked most was when the battle began. You could choose to watch it as is, fast forward or see the battle results. As a noob, it is pretty cool to be able to see how the monsters fight. Can't wait to see where all this leads!
