Battle analysis: The mighty Kron vs Magic Reflect + Amplify

Introduction

As commented on Greengineer (2022-a), the combination of Magic Reflect and Amplify is dangerous against teams that focus on magic attack. However, the monster that has this ability has to survive as long as necessary to fulfill its role. One way to do this is to put monsters with Tank Heal on the team, but if there are any monsters with Affliction on the other side it can put this strategy at risk. In this way I prefer to combine the Divine Shield provided by Lorna Shine with a monster with Resurrect, because after returning to life the monster will be able to return 02 more hits before falling again.

I used this combination in one of my battles expecting a magic team on the other side, but a Kron + Llama appears that caught me off guard and managed to activate the Last Stand.

The strategy before the battle

The battle had Keep Your Distance and Spreading Fury active, 20 MP available, and only Fire Splinter disabled. In my opponent's history there were some battles with magic compositions and with Keep Your Distance active it was an extra incentive for him to use it.

So I looked for the strategy of using Lorna Shine combined with a tank with Magic Reflect, a monster with Amplify and another with Resurrect. To fulfill these roles I placed Pelacor Conjurer as a tank with Magic Reflect, Dax Paragon in third position with Amplify and Adelade Brightwing in fourth position with Ressurect. To use the rest of the MP and increase my war power I put the Silvershield Archers in the fifth position and the Time Mage in the last position, and to occupy the last free slot I put the Furious Chicken in the second position.

Once assembled, the team was hoping that my opponent wouldn't come with the team focused on distance physical attack, which didn't happen, but a Kron + Llama appeared 😫.

The battle

My opponent came with Scarred Llama Mage as a Summoner, Failed Summoner as a tank with Magic Reflect, Chaos Agent in second position and Kron the Undying in last position with Heal. As happened in Greengineer (2022-b) I was surprised with a Llama + Kron combo without any strategy to eliminate him before he activated the Last Stand. Adding the attacks of my allies I realized that I would take 06 life per turn if there were no errors, and that was the amount of health that Kron would heal when he activated the Last Stand. My hope was focused on my Pelacor Conjurer that would reflect some of Kron's high attack back at him, but would he last long enough to guarantee my victory?

In the first round, everyone remained on the battlefield. Only Furious Chicken and Silvershield Archers remained with Divine Shield.

In the second round the Failed Summoner was eliminated by my Time Mage, who upon receiving part of the damage back activated Rage, increasing its movement speed (this detail was important as we will see later). Then the Chaos Agent was eliminated, causing Kron to activate Last Stand.

In the third round my Pelacor Conjurer was shot down by Kron but came back to life thanks to Adelade Brightwing.

In the fourth round my Pelacor Conjurer lost his Divine Shield and returned some more damage to Kron.

In the fifth round my Pelacor Conjurer was removed from the game for good, but Kron was left with only 02 health after my allies' attack.

In the sixth round, my Time Mage delivered the final blow to Kron before he could use his heal, thanks to the speed boost she received when activating Rage during the second round.

The match was tight, on the last hit, right after I lost an important source of damage that was my Pelacor Conjurer. Magic Reflect combined with Amplify paved the way for my victory.

Introdução

Como comentado em Greengineer (2022-a), a combinação de Magic Reflect com Amplify é perigosa contra times com foco em ataque mágico. Porém o monstro que possui esta habilidade tem que sobreviver o tempo necessário para cumprir com seu papel. Uma forma de fazer isto é colocar monstros com Tank Heal na equipe, mas se houver algum monstro com Affliction do outro lado pode colocar esta estratégia em risco. Desta forma prefiro combinar o Divine Shield fornecido pela Lorna Shine com algum monstro com Resurrect, pois após retornar à vida o monstro vai poder devolver mais 02 hits antes de cair de novo.

Utilizei esta combinação em uma de minhas batalhas esperando um time mágico do outro lado, mas aparecem um Kron + Llama que me pegou desprevenido e conseguiu ativar o Last Stand.

A estratégia antes da batalha

A batalha tinha Keep Your Distance e Spreading Fury ativos, 20 de MP disponíveis e apenas o Splinter de Fogo desabilitado. No histórico de meu oponente apareciam alguma batalhas com composições mágicas e com Keep Your Distance ativo era um incentivo a mais para ele utilizar.

Desta forma busquei a estratégia de utilizar a Lorna Shine combinada a um tanque com Magic Reflect, um monstro com Amplify e outro com Resurrect. Para cumprir com estes papéis coloquei o Pelacor Conjurer como tanque com Magic Reflect, o Dax Paragon na terceira posição com Amplify e a Adelade Brightwing na quarta posição com Ressurect. Para utilizar o restante do MP e aumentar meu poder bélico coloquei o Silvershield Archers na quinta posição e a Time Mage na última posição, e para ocupar o último slot livre coloquei a Furious Chicken na segunda posição.

Uma vez montado o time era torcer que meu oponente não viesse com o time focado em ataque físico à distância, o que não ocorreu, mas apareceu um Kron + Llama 😫.

A batalha

Meu oponente veio com o Scarred Llama Mage como Summoner, o Failed Summoner como tanque com Magic Reflect, o Chaos Agent na segunda posição e o Kron the Undying na última posição com Heal. Como ocorrido em Greengineer (2022-b) fui surpreendido com um combo Llama + Kron sem nenhuma estratégia de eliminá-lo antes que ativasse o Last Stand. Somando os ataques de meu aliados eu percebi que tiraria 06 de vida por turno caso não houvesse nenhum erro, e essa era a quantidade de vida que o Kron curaria quando ativasse o Last Stand. Minha esperança ficou concentrada no meu Pelacor Conjurer que refletiria parte do alto ataque do Kron de volta para ele, mas será que ele duraria tempo suficiente para garantir a minha vitória?

No primeiro round todos permaneciam no campo de batalha. Apenas a Furious Chicken e o Silvershield Archers permaneciam com o Divine Shield.

No segundo round o Failed Summoner foi eliminado pela minha Time Mage, que ao receber parte do dano de volta ativou a Rage, aumentando sua velocidade de movimento (esse detalhe foi importante como veremos mais tarde). Em seguida o Chaos Agent foi eliminado, fazendo com que o Kron ativasse o Last Stand.

No terceiro round meu Pelacor Conjurer foi abatido pelo Kron, mas voltou à vida graças à Adelade Brightwing.

No quarto round meu Pelacor Conjurer perdeu seu Divine Shield e retornou mais um pouco de dano para o Kron.

No quinto round meu Pelacor Conjurer foi retirado de vez da partida, mas o Kron ficou com apenas 02 de vida após o ataque de meus aliados.

No sexto round minha Time Mage deu o golpe final no Kron antes que ele pudesse utilizar sua cura, isso graças ao aumento de velocidade que ela recebeu ao ativar o Rage durante o segundo round.

A partida foi apertada, no último golpe, logo após eu perder uma importante fonte de dano que era meu Pelacor Conjurer. O Magic Reflect combinado ao Amplify traçou o caminho para a minha vitória.
