Introduction:

Another weekly challenge launched (Splinterlands, 2022) this time with an Earth Splinter card from the Chaos Legion set, the Psychic Goblin.

With the release of the new Summoner Obsidian, most magic compositions now use Earth Splinter instead of Water Splinter (Greengineer, 2022-a). We've seen the price of cards like Venari Wavesmith drop a lot while a recently released legendary card, Queen Mycelia, is even more expensive than some legendary monsters in the Untamed set. (Peakmonsters, 2022). Among the Chaos Legion releases is the Psychic Goblin, which already comes with the Heal skill and 02 magic damage at level 1, making the Earth Splinter return to dispute, since the bronze league, with the hegemony of the Life Splinter and its healing compositions, as explained in Greengineer (2022-b). Even in this post I presented a battle with the presence of the Goblin Psychic in conditions that favored the use of Summoner Mylor Crownling.

Let's analyze the card and understand its strengths and weaknesses:

Goblin Psychic Lvl 10

Tank Heal: Heals a third of the tank's health. There are only 2 monsters in the ghost deck with this ability.

Affliction: Prevents the targeted monster from receiving healing. It is interesting to see the presence of this skill in a monster that heals allies, it is the only monster to have these two skills. In addition, you can already obtain it at Silver League level.

Silence: Reduces all enemies' magic attack by 1. Very powerful skill that acquires from the Gold League level.

Dispell: Removes buffs from whoever is targeted. He is one of the few supports that have 04 skills and they all match his purpose in the game very well.

Having 02 magic attack ends up being a double-edged knife, as it can kill itself with the presence of the Magic Reflect ability, but at the same time it is a support with which it has good attack power.

In today's battle I will present a composition more similar to what we have seen in the Bronze League, which uses Summoner Obsidian.

The strategy before the battle:

The battle had the Spreading Fury rule and 40 MP available. From my opponent's history, he used compositions with a focus on melee attack and there was no battle in which his tank had the Void ability. I usually avoid the abusive use of magical compositions, so my history didn't denounce that I could come with this focus. In this way, using a magical composition could catch him off guard.

For this I counted on Summoner Obsidian and its buff that increases 01 of the magic damage of all allies. I used the Unicorn Mustang as a tank due to its Void ability, in case my opponent came with magic attack. Behind him I put the Mushroom Seer to reduce magic damage with its Silence ability, the duo Wood Nymph and Goblin Psychic with their healing abilities, Queen Mycelia with the Protect ability and in the backline the Mycelic Slipspawn with the Taunt ability.

The purpose of this composition was to split enemy attacks while I destroyed their tank, exposing the rest of the monsters to the overwhelming onslaught of my mages.

Once the team was assembled, I was hoping that my opponent didn't come with the Void and Silence skills and at that point it worked, but a Mycelic Slipspawn appeared in the way of my strategy.

The Battle

My opponent used Quix The Devious to slow down me, so that the Spreading Fury game rule would not create a monster untargetable by physical attacks on my team. As I didn't have any monsters with ranged physical attack, your other debuff had no effect on my team.

As a tank he used the Desert Dragon, with its high attack power and Piercing and Trample abilities. Behind him he placed Regal Peryton with its high movement speed and Flying skill, which in case I used ranged monsters with the Snipe skill would be untargetable after activating Enrage. To protect the tank he put Scavo Hireling and Goblin Psychic, aiming to eliminate my backline he chose Hunter Jarx with his Snipe ability and on the backline he copied my strategy by putting Mycelic Slipspawn.

This way my Mustang would be in trouble facing the Desert Dragon alone while my team would focus its attack on the enemy Taunt. Lucky for me, I would get rid of Taunt faster than my opponent, as my monsters had a lot more damage as discussed below.

At the end of the first round I got rid of the enemy Mycelic Slipspawn and landed the first attack on Desert Dragon, activating his Enrage. My Mycelic Slipspawn still had enough health for more two rounds.

2 Round Psychic.png

At the end of the second round I eliminated Desert Dragon and enemy Regal Peryton. My team keeps all monsters up.

3 Round Psychic.png

In the third round I lost my Mycelic Slipspawn, but my opponent lost all of his monsters, guaranteeing me the victory.

4 Round Psychic.png

Analyzing this battle, the two monsters with the Tank Heal ability were essential to keep my Unicorn Mustang alive, as it even received a hit with 08 damage from Desert Dragon. I was lucky that the enemy Psychic Goblin didn't hit the Affliction on my Unicorn, as I didn't have the Cleanse ability on my team. I could have replaced my tank with the Mycelic Infantry, as my Mycelic Slipspawn deflected all enemy attacks except your tank's and the Shield skill would be much more useful against that 08 melee damage.

About Goblin Psychic, his contribution in the battle was both offensive and defensive, showing that a support is not always synonymous with losing an attack slot.

Hope you enjoyed this strategy to melt the enemy team. To follow the battle in detail just go to this link: Greengineer (2022-c).

PS: Sorry if there is any error in the above writing, as English is not my mother language.

-------PT-BR------

A batalha

No final do primeiro round me livrei do Mycelic Slipspawn inimigo e acertei o primeiro ataque no Desert Dragon, ativando seu Enrage.

2 Round Psychic.png

No final do segundo round eliminei o Desert Dragon e o Regal Peryton inimigo.
