Introduction

Another weekly challenge released (Splinterlands, 2022), this time about a card from the Chaos Legion Set and the Life Splinter, the Time Mage:

• Slow: Reduces the speed of all enemy monsters by 01.
• Rust: Reduces the armor of all enemy monsters by 02.

With high movement speed and the Slow skill since level 1, Time Mage has appeared in many compositions that use Life Splinter, as it is the only way to have this debuff on the battlefield with cards at Silver level or lower, without using the neutral monster Ooze. In addition, it has low MP consumption and at level 3 it already acquires 02 magic attack, being a good option in battles with Little League active or little MP available. Next I will present a battle with her participation.

The strategy before the battle

The battle had 56 MP available, the Stampede and Close Range rules were active, and the Fire and Earth Splinters were disabled. With plenty of MP available, I tried to take advantage of the strategy used in Greengineer (2022-a), using the Shieldbearer combined with Adelade Brightwing.

This way I put Shieldbearer in the last position and Adelade in the fourth position. As a tank I selected Uriel the Purifier. With magic attack, in addition to Adelade, I chose Djinn Renova in second position and Time Mage in third position. In fifth position I placed Prismologist with Blast.

Once selected the team was to hope that the time needed for my opponent to kill my Shieldbearer was enough for me to eliminate his tank.

The battle

My opponent came with Summoner Kelya Frendul, Baakjira as a tank, Nerissa Tridawn in second position, River Hellondale in third position, Deeplurker in fourth position, Sniping Narwhal in fifth position and Djinn Oshannus in last position.

Analyzing its composition, my opponent sought to protect its rear against a possible Sand Worm attacks with Djinn Oshannus's Force Field ability. His tank, the Baakjira, was also very strong. So if my goal was to focus the attack on one of those positions, I would have time to eliminate my most vulnerable monsters with Deeplurker's Opportunity and Sniping Narwhal's Snipe skills. Lucky for me, I wouldn't have to worry about these attacks as long as my Shieldbearer was alive.

After the first round all monsters were still alive.

In the second round my Shieldbearer was shot down twice as he was resurrected by Adelade Brightwing. The Baakjira was on the verge of death.

In the third round Baakjira was killed, but River Hellondale revived him.

In the fourth round, Time Mage eliminated Baakjira before he could use his Heal ability, but I lost it right away with Deeplurker's attack. Uriel the Purifier knocked Nerissa Tridawn out of the game in one hit.

In the fifth round River Hellondale was eliminated.

In the sixth round, Deeplurker and Sniping Narwhal were eliminated, leaving only Djinn Oshannus on the enemy team.

In the seventh round, no monsters died, and finally, in the eighth round, the Djinn Oshannus was destroyed with Uriel's merciless attack.

Due to its high movement speed, Time Mage was instrumental in eliminating Baakjira, opening the way for the rest of my team to destroy the opponent.

Introdução

Mais um desafio semanal lançado (Splinterlands, 2022), desta vez sobre uma carta do Set Chaos Legion e do Splinter da Vida, a Time Mage:

• Slow: Reduz em 01 a velocidade de todos os monstros inimigos.
• Rust: Reduz em 02 a armadura de todos os monstros inimigos.

Com alta velocidade de movimento e a habilidade Slow desde o nível 1, a Time Mage tem aparecido em muitas composições que utilizam o Splinter da Vida, pois é a única forma de ter esse debuff no campo de batalha com cartas no nível Prata ou inferior, sem a utilização do monstro neutro Ooze. Além disto ela possui consumo baixo de MP e no nível 3 já adquire 02 de ataque mágico, sendo uma boa opção em batalhas com Little League ativo ou pouco MP disponível. A seguir apresentarei uma batalha com sua participação.

A estratégia antes da batalha

A batalha tinha 56 de MP disponível, as regras Stampede e Close Range estavam ativas e os Splinters do Fogo e da Terra estavam desabilitados. Com bastante MP disponível busquei aproveitar a estratégia utilizada em Greengineer (2022-a), utilizando o Shieldbearer combinado à Adelade Brightwing.

Desta forma coloquei o Shieldbearer na última posição e a Adelade na quarta posição. Como tanque selecionei o Uriel the Purifier. Com ataque mágico, além da Adelade, escolhi a Djinn Renova na segunda posição e a Time Mage na terceira posição. Na quinta posição coloquei a Prismologist com Blast.

Uma vez selecionado o time era torcer que o tempo necessário para meu oponente abater meu Shieldbearer fosse suficiente para eu eliminar seu tanque.

A batalha

Meu oponente veio com a Summoner Kelya Frendul, com o Baakjira como tanque, a Nerissa Tridawn na segunda posição, a River Hellondale na terceira posição, o Deeplurker na quarta posição, o Sniping Narwhal na quinta posição e o Djinn Oshannus na última posição.

Observando sua composição meu oponente buscava proteger sua retaguarda contra ataques de um possível Sand Worm com a habilidade Forcefield do Djinn Oshannus. Seu tanque, o Baakjira, também era muito forte. Logo se meu objetivo fosse focar o ataque em alguma destas posições ele teria tempo de eliminar meus monstros mais vulneráveis com as habilidades Opportunity do Deeplurker e Snipe do Sniping Narwhal. Para minha sorte eu não precisaria me preocupar com estes ataques enquanto meu Shieldbearer estivesse vivo.

Após o primeiro round todos os monstros seguiam vivos.

No segundo round meu Shieldbearer foi abatido duas vezes, pois foi ressuscitado pela Adelade Brightwing. O Baakjira estava à beira da morte.

No terceiro round o Baakjira foi morto, mas a River Hellondale o ressuscitou.

No quarto round a Time Mage eliminou o Baakjira antes que ele utilizasse sua habilidade Heal, mas a perdi em seguida com o ataque do Deeplurker. O Uriel the Purifier tirou a Nerissa Tridawn da partida em um só golpe.

No quinto round a River Hellondale foi eliminada.

No sexto round o Deeplurker e o Sniping Narwhal foram eliminados, restando apenas o Djinn Oshannus no time inimigo.

No sétimo round nenhum monstro morreu e finalmente, no oitavo round, o Djinn Oshannus foi destroçado com o ataque impiedoso do Uriel.

Devido à sua alta velocidade de movimento, a Time Mage foi fundamental na eliminação do Baakjira, abrindo o caminho para o restante de minha equipe destruir o oponente.
