Even A Blind Squirrel Finds A Nut Once In A While

My favorite Battle Of The Day today was a match from the first round of the Bronze A-Game Tournament. In the match I faced one of the top players in Splinterlands and one that I have lost to many, many, many times. In fact I can't actually remember ever having defeated this player even though I face them in tournaments fairly regularly, especially in the Alpha tournaments. Here's how the battle went.

At the start of the match, I thought our teams were fairly matched. "What fiendish tricks would my opponent spring on me once the match started?" I wondered. Ah, it was the magic! The Gold Dragon and Divine Healer's magic attacks were punishing my Serpentine Soldier, while my magic users attacks were mostly brushed off by the Silvershield Paladin thanks to the Healing ability of that old lady.

In Round 2, I lost my tank, but my Fire Beetle kept the match even by taking out the opponent's Divine Healer.

With no Healing support for the opposing tank, my Elemental Phoenix was able to take out the Silvershield Paladin at the start of Round 3.

In Round 4, my team took advantage of missed attacks to eliminate the opponents Feral Spirit while not losing any of our monsters.

In Round 5, all my monsters connected with their attacks to finish off the Gold Dragon.

Victory was mine!
