SPS Token Stats and the Future Plans

Splinterlands a Play2earn game build on the Hive blockchain has completed the 5 year recently on chain. The game provided a number of option to earn different token which are tradable on secondary market. The game sated with Alpha pack and then different editions were introduced as every edition has some print limit. The Splintershards(SPS) which is governance token in the game ecosystem has created a big noise during the launch of the taken but by the time the year long airdrop was come to an end the token price was at their all time low. For quite some time the token price was stable in the range of $0.016-0.017 which is also on low side. Team is implementing the changes in the game to improve the tokenomics and the changes implemented in the month of July are also one step for same. The team has announced a big change by replacing the Collection-Power with the SPS staking requirement for better rewards in the game. To increase the chance of getting better rewards form the rewards form loot chests and the season end chests the players need to stake the SPS in their game wallet. The SPS staking is directly link with the reward multiplier. The collection-power restriction for higher leagues is not present anymore as any player with any collection power may play in any league. The difference comes when the players in same league has different SPS token staked i their wallet means they will rewarded differently. The base rewards are 1x and they multiplier as the staked SPS amount increases in the wallet of player. We have observed a small improvement in the SPS token price just after the changes were implemented but after some time the price settled again near to the low in past.

The above price chart is self explanatory how the price has been dropped after the creating a all time high which was approximately $1 per SPS token.

My SPS Stats and Future Plans

I am cumulating the token form the very first day and sell very little quantity when the price was above $0.5. At present the SPS holding is more then 90K and and almost all the token are in staked condition. I love the 15.19% APR which drip the SPs token everyday in my wallet.

The most of the token in my wallet are form the airdrop and the form the different earning methods in the game. A small quantity is purchased form the the market. I was fortunate with the good collation of game assets during the airdrop ad that is the reason I received the handful amount of token. The remember the game assets were touching the new heights during the airdrop and my card collection was worth more then 40K USD at that time. I still has the holding strategy for he SPS and planning to stake all what I am earning form the game. The 100K SPS will be the quick milestone now.

Final Words

The SPS token will play the important role in the game ecosystem as per the announcements by the team and i am expecting more use case for the token in coming future. The SPS rental was a good try but the market is already flooded with the liquid SPS already so the changes does not create much positivity. The new players of course required the SPS so that they can multiply there rewards but the old players were already holding the good amount of SPS form airdrop. I believe in the game and believe the team will create do best to improve the game tokenomics. The Land are just around the coroner. The mavs server is available to test the Land game before the release to all players. The lands for sure improve the game and the players will waiting for the same for long time. The Land will effect the Dark Energy Crystal (DEC) & Card market directly as their will be a good demand for both on lands. The SPS as such does not have any direct utility but of course when other assets will be moving they will support the SPS also.
I will share my strategy along with best cards in my collection to use on land in coming days.
