Understand the DEC requirement for Land

The Lands release will be soon as the test net is available on the mavs server. If you have the maverick status then you can also participate in the testing. The lands will be a awesome addition in Splinterlands ecosystem and will surely take the Play2earn game build on the Hive blockchain to another level. The land will provide the new use case for different game assets. The different cards will need to stake on lands which will reduce a big amount of the cards available on market and in different accounts. The Dark Energy Crystal (DEC) staking requirement also reduce the liquids DEC available in the market. To use the lands effectively we need to understand the different components and the prerequisites for the Lands.

Dark Energy (Staked DEC) requirements

DEC Requirement for Plots

To operate any system, a Power Source is indispensable, and Fuel is the essential component to energize this source. In our scenario, players require DEC (Dark Energy Crystals) to act as the fuel for their power source, which is crucial for resource production. This concept parallels an engine system's reliance on gasoline for operation. However, there is a significant distinction: in the Land, DEC is not consumed but merely staked, remaining available after unstaking.

Where should players stake their DEC? The DEC should be staked in the region corresponding to the plot's location.

How much DEC is needed? For one Power Core 5000 DEC.

DEC Requirement for Card

The DEC will be required for staking cards on plot which will be act as land workers on plots for resource production.

How much DEC is needed? For optimal efficiency, a maximum level card necessitates 10,000 DEC.

What about lower-level cards? Cards below the maximum level require a proportionally reduced amount of DEC.

To determine the DEC requirement for lower-level cards, we can calculate it based on the BCX that a card holds. Divide 10,000 by the maximum level BCX to arrive at the DEC requirement per BCX for a specific card. It's important to note that the DEC requirement remains consistent regardless of the card's edition or rarity. In other words, whether a player uses the Alpha Edition or Untamed Edition, or employs common or legendary cards, the DEC requirement for a maximum level card remains the same.

If any player want to use five maxed cards on all five slots then the he needs to stack the 10000X5 = 50000 DEC also.

There will be no fee for the staking or unstaking process. Unstaked DEC will be available instantly as DEC and in the similar way when players will staked the DEC it will be instantly available as Dark Energy for land use. Player has to unstake cards and items first to Unstaking DEC.
As there is no burn of Dark Energy, so the DEC balance will remain constant.

Power Source and Importance of RUNI card

As we already discussed the Power Source is essential to produce the resources and DEC will act as the fuel for the Power Source.
Is there any other alternate for the Power Source?
Yes RUNI is also act as the Power Source or Power Core in Land.
The card is also act as worker so will increase the Production point which is a big advantage or benefit off using the Runi card on plots. Players do no required to stake DEC if Runi is available on plot.

If the players has purchased a Building in a Box (BiB) starter package during the survey, will be immediately be granted a Power Core. But keep ion mind the Power Core are non-transferable.

Why this Matters?

If you have purchased a Building in a Box (BiB) starter package so its advisable that you must use the plots in same account. The transfer of plot to any other account means the Building in a Box will remains in the account where they have been purchased as they are non-transferable.
Please note above condition is applicable before the 1.5 rolls out.

Final Words

I believe in the game and upcoming Land release will improve the game tokenomics. The mavs server is available to test the Land game before the release so that the bug may be fixed and nay other improvement may be implemented. The lands are the long awaited and team has already missed the August target. But its is better to wait then the broken project.
The Land will effect the Dark Energy Crystal (DEC) market as well as the & Card market directly. Every Plot required the minimum 5K DEC for power core and then additional DEC also, based on the level of cards.
I am also purchasing the DEC form the market so get myself prepared for the upcoming Land.
I am holding Beta Edition cards also so that will be a good gainer for me.
