Splinterlands Brawl Report 2022-WK12
Hola ๐ fellow fellow Splinterland Players and Hivians
This is week of Hello in Spanish
๐PIZZA 3 Hand-Tossed Guild๐
Our #HivePizza 3 Guild took ๐ฅ1st Place again (second win in a row) in the brawl which just finished and won 30 crowns.
In this brawl, I participated in the Novice Chaos legion fray (my constant fray for now). Rented a whole lot of Epics and Legendary cards and best rent was Quix the Devious used in so many battles. I had 7 Battles and ended with 6W๐ 1L๐ finishing in top 3 in the Guild and got 1385 merits ๐๐๐
Brawls Report
Battle #1
Ruleset Definitions
Silenced Summoners | Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities
Taking Sides | Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles |
Normally for Silenced Summoner Ruleset, it is recommended to use summoners with lowest Mana requirement so you can use that spare mana to select more monster cards, but since this one had 99 Mana cap, I went with Quix the Devious because that will allow me to use Dragon Monsters as well along with Earth Monsters.
MVP Cards in this lineup
Goblin Psychic | Tank Heal ability really helped tank card Quora Towershead (along with her won Heal ability) hold steadfast as an indestructible tank |
On the attack side there was not a single MVP but combination of Quora Towershead with her BloodLust ability and double (Magic and Melee) attacks, Carnage Titan ability to attack twice with Double Strike and Reach abilities and Chaos Dragon 3 magic attack and with its Scattershot ability which fortunately took out opponents Time Mage in first attack and it helped in getting the speed of my lineup back to normal.
Battle #2
Ruleset Definitions
Healed Out | All healing abilities are removed from summoners and monsters
Heavy Hitters | All monsters have knock out ability which means monsters do double damage when attacking an enemy that is stunned |
Again went with Summoner Quix the Devious along with Monsters, with idea of mostly Melee attack and as it was decently high Mana cap game planned to use high rarity and high mana monsters
MVP Cards in this lineup
Grum Flameblade | With Bloodlust ability the increase in stats especially the Melee attack was really helpful in eliminating opponents lineup
Chaos Dragon | Due to its very high 14 Mana cost Chaos Dragon is not a very ideal monster to be used in lineup but when Mana cap permits with its Armor and Health it provides quite a good protection at the end of line and Magic attack and speed combo are one of the best in Chaos legion range |
Loosing Tatiana Bladye in just the second round was unfortunate (normally she is MVP in most battles) but as explained in MVP section above Grum Flameblade and Chaos Dragon did their part and easily eliminated full lineup of the opponents
Battle #3
Ruleset Definitions
Fog of War | Monster loose Snipe and Sneak abilities
Lost Legendaries | Legendary Monsters can't be used |
Took a little bit time on this one to decide on which splinter to go with and at the end went with Splinter and so did my opponent, was kind of expecting Splinter so did not use any magic attack in my lineup and I was well assuming wrong ๐
I always tend to not use Nerissa Tridawn as she does not has any abilities but her 3 Magic attack proved disastrous for my lineup ๐
Battle #4
Ruleset Definitions
Healed Out | All healing abilities are removed from summoners and monsters |
Decided to go with well Dragon Splinter again this time with Earth Monsters
MVP Cards in this lineup
Quora Towershead | Double (Melee and Magic) attack with Hight initial Health along with Bloodlust ability makes her quite a good attacker and tank at the same time
Iza The Fanged | Although she has only 1 Range attack, her high speed and Scavenger (where in her health increases by 1 every time a monster from any team dies) ability helps her survive for quite a number of rounds and Sneak ability helps in eliminating opponents back Monsters |
This one got closer than I expected but once Quora Towershead's BloodLust ability kicked in, she brought the game home.
Battle #5
Ruleset Definitions
Spreading Fury | All Monsters get the Enrage (has increased Melee Attack and speed when damaged) ability
Even Stevens | Monsters with Even Mana cost can only be used |
Spreading Fury and only and splinters active, this was always going to be Fire Summoner Tarsa for me but unfortunately when choosing the team I realized that there are not many Even mana cost Monsters with good Melee attack in Splinter, so it was mixture of Melee and Magic attack lineup
MVP Cards in this lineup
Ifrit Rising | This is one of the most under used cards used in Chaos Legion, Due to its Recharge ability which basically means it will skip its attack every other round, but if you have good tanks in front of it which can block damage to this one, its attack in every other round is 3x Magic attack and in most battles it means that it will take out the opponent monster in every other round (which it did in this game for me)
Tatiana Blayde | This time Tusk the Wide tank in front she got time for her Bloodlust ability to kick in by the time she came in first position and by the last round she had 5 Ranged attack 11 Melee attack and 12 Speed ๐ฒ |
The concentrated Melee attack with Deadly Irfit Rising's Magic attack worked like a charm to take out opponent's lineup one by one.
Battle #6
Ruleset Definitions
Explosive Weaponry | All monsters get the Blast (does additional half damage to adjacent monsters) ability
Odd Ones Out | Monsters with Odd Mana cost can only be used |
With Odd Ones Out (or even with Even Stevens) when available I tend to use Dragon Splinter as it increases the number of cards available to choose from so for this one again it was Summoner Quix the Devious along with Fire Monsters.
MVP Cards in this lineup
Carnage Titan | With Reach ability allowing it to attack from Second position combined with Double Strike (attacks 2 times each round) along with Blast ruleset dealt the most damage
Grum Flameblade | With Bloodlust ability the increase in stats especially the Melee attack was really helpful in eliminating opponents lineup |
The opponent had big tanks lineup first 3 positions but as mentioned Carnage Titan's double strikes from second position with Blast ruleset and increase Melee damage of Grum Flameblade with each monster it defeated whole opponent lineup without even using a single monster in my lineup.
Battle #7
Ruleset Definitions
Reverse Speed | Monsters with slowest speed attack first and have higher chance of evading attacks
Earthquake | Non-Flying Monsters take 2 damage at the end of each round |
Normally for Earthquake ruleset in Chaos legion series, Dragon and Water splinters are the best due to availability of decent choice for Flying Monsters but for this battle both of those splinters were deactivated of the active splinters only Life splinter had a decent tank and attack monster Uriel the Purifier in my deck so chose to go with the Life Splinters
MVP Cards in this lineup
Uriel the Purifier | The main reason to choose this one was for its Flying ability and stats of Armor and Health which makes it a very good tank |
As thought Uriel the Purifier stood there as a indestructible tank while other Monsters fell to the Earthquake Ruleset.
