Introduction

Hey guys, happy Easter, everyone!

Even though the festivities it's TIME (pun intended) for another weekly battle challenge!

This week as the star teammate we have the Time Mage one of the most powerful CL monsters in the game.
Lets jump right in and check out her stats:

Starting off level 1 she has the Slow ability, which, as you all know, reduces the speed of all enemy monsters by 1 point. Quite the buff we have for the Life splinter in my humble opinion. For the small price of 4 mana we get a decent damage mage, which slow the entire enemy team, which when leveled to level 5 gains another ability - rust, reducing enemy monsters' armor by 2 - insane!

Rulesets and team composition:

rulesets.png

  • Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can atack from any position;
  • 48 mana cap;
  • Available splinters; Fire, Life, Dragon.

So, as always my first thought when seeing Melee Mayhem is to go for a heavy melee damage team, but upon seeing my opponent likes to use heavy ranged teams in the last few battles I decide to go for Life splinter also. A humble 30 seconds into making the team a lightbult lights up in my head and the idea of switching to Dragon+Life appears in my head. Basically Quix the Devious is a direct counter to General Sloan, who are by far my 2 favorite summoners. The weak point in General Sloan, despite their high ranged damage, in my opinion, is the low monster speed. So I quickly decide to switch to Quix and nullify the damage buff from General Sloan, plus gaining a bit more advantage by slowing them down abit. Adding the Time Mage into this mix goes for quite a deadly combination. But in making the team, as I am still renting a level 2 Quix, as I only have 1 bcx of him, I quickly calculate I can get another small advantage in our team by using the Supply Runner whom I cant use with my level 3 General Sloan.

So this is what I come up with:

Monster I chose:Why I chose him:
quix.pngAlready said it, but here we go again - enemy likes using General Sloan so I decide to go with Quix, he counters the ranged damage bonus from Sloan, also debuffing the enemy speed, superior summoner in a direct comabt.
2022-04-24 10_05_18-Window.pngAs a main tank - Shieldbearer. Not really the best tanking ability(without Shield), but his high hp pool and decent armor make up for it. The Taunt ability he has averts attacks from our backline monsters, giving them enough time to plow the enemy frontline.
ck.pngA backup tank, because why not. Also in the Melee Mayhem she would also attack. The 3 damage she has, with her 3 speed and Shield make her a beast.
time-mage.pngThe star - Time Mage. Almost a must for any Life spliter game. Even without Rust she is one of the best support monsters out there. She is cheap,affordable and most of all - quite useful.
supply-runner.pngSupply Runner, because who doesn't like hitting first? The speed also gives us a tad more survivability, so it would be a shame to skip it.
arbalest.pngPelacor Arbalest is also one of the strongest cards from CL, his double attack make him quite deadly, even without the General Sloan buff.
prismologist.pngLastly - Prismologist, the 3 direct damage and 2 splash is amazing. She is put in the last position because of her 2 armor just in case our Shieldbearer dies to soak up a sneak attack. I almost always put her last just for this reason alone.

Lets jump into the game, which you can watch for yourself by clicking here.

Round 1

1.png
Starting the battle we face off, as expected, a General Sloan. All the buffs we have gathered from Quix, Time Mage and Supply runner give us the upper hand in quickly attacking before most monsters on the enemy team and dispatching of the enemy Shieldbearer even before he has time to attack. Following our assault the angry enemy team unleashes their attacks on our Shieldbearer, but sadly not missing a single attack. The round ends with him still standing with 3 hp.

Round 2

2.png
Round 2 starts with our Supply Runner and Time Mage landing 2 damage each on the new enemy frontline monster - Cornealus, followed by the death of our Shieldbearer from the enemy Air Elemental's attack. The Chaos Knight takes a step forward to defend our team from harm. A quick 3 attacks are enough to take Cornealus down and next up for slaughter is Sand Worm. The remaining 3 monsters on the enemy team all take a swing at Chaos Knight but the speed reduce takes it toll on them and all 3 of them miss, putting a smile on my face.

Round 3

3.png
Starting round 3 the game is pretty much won as Time Mage and Supply Runner run over Sand Worm and putting Air Elemental in the first position, unable to attack. Following this is the Chaos Knight, Prismologist and Pelacor Arbalest attacks which leave only a 4 hp enemy Prismologist all alone in the frontline, waiting for her death.

Round 4

4.png
As we already knew the certain demise of the enemy Prismologist comes after Time Mages and Supply runner's attacks and victory is secured.

Not much to say after this battle as everything went as expected. The huge speed difference we managed to get and the 3 lucky misses on the CHaos Knight in round 2 gave us more than enough advantage to easily take the game.

If you have any further suggestions I would love to let me know in the comments.

Thank you for your TIME (sorry, I couldn't healp myself, he-he)!
