The challenge for this week is to showcase the magical power of Life Sapper in the battlefield. I will share one of my ranked battles using this card and I'll give my insights about it.

About Life Sapper

Life Sapper is a death splinter rare card which belongs to the Chaos Legion set. Currently the Regular Foil card has a market value of $0.159 while the Gold Foil card has a market value of $2.294. I think the price is reasonable considering the skills and power of this card when it is leveled up and if the card was utilized perfectly in battles.

The figure above shows the complete stats of Life Sapper from Level 1 up to the max level which is Level 8. It has a basic stats of 2 Health, 2 Speed and 1 Magic Damage at Level 1, it also has a Life Leech ability which would gives the card +1 health everytime it damages an opponent that makes this card more durable on the long run.

Based from the stats above, I can say that leveling up this card to Level 4 would be a good investment since the card at this stage would now deal 2 Magic Damage which would be effective against opponents with high amount of shield.

My Battle

 " "image.png""

This is the ranked battle I want to share where I utilize my Life Sapper in order to win this match. You can watch this battle right here -> Click here

The Ruleset

Equalizer

 "image.png"

There are two ruleset for this match first is the Equalizer. The Equalizer ruleset makes the initial health of all monsters in the battlefield equal to the health of the monster which has the highest base health between the either team. This is very effective with Life Sapper since it has 2 base health at level 1 and it would benefit a lot if the opponent brings a monster with a good amount of health.

Rise of the Commons

 "image.png"

The other rule is Rise of the Commons. This ruleset only allows common and rare monsters to be used in the battle. This is something I am comfortable with since I am not much familiar with Epic and Legendary Monsters outside the once I am using sometimes in the battle.

My Lineup

Summoner: Thaddius Brood

 "image.png"

I used Thaddius Brood as my summoner for this battle. It deals -1 Health and -1 Magic Damage to all opponents monster. It is effective for this ruleset since it would reduce the effect of the Equalizer rule where all monsters have the same amount of health at the start of the battle.

Monster 1 : Carrion Shade

 "image.png"

I used my Gold Foil Carrion Shade as my front since it would benefit a lot from the Equalizer ruleset. It does not deal a lot of damage but would serve as a frontline to give my Life Sapper and Venari Bonesmith enough time to gain a lot of health

Monster 2 : Battering Ram

 "image.png"

I also used my battering ram for this match since it will also benefit a lot from the Equalizer ruleset. I decide to put it behind Carrion Shade since it has a opportunity ability which allows the card to attack the opponent's monster with the lowest amount of health.

Monster 3 : Creeping Ooze

 "image.png"

I also used one of my favorite cards which is creeping ooze for this match since it will also benefit a lot from the Equalizer ruleset. It is effective to neutralize the speed buff from the summoner Kelya Frendul.

Monster 4 : Venari Bonesmith

 "image.png"

Next one is the Venari Bonesmith which has the same ability with Life Sapper. It almost had an identical stats with Life Sapper the only difference is their health and their mana cost. This card will also benefit a lot with the Equalizer ruleset.

Monster 5 : Life Sapper

 "image.png"

Lastly is the Life Sapper which also benefit a lot with the Equalizer ruleset. I placed this card and Venari Bonesmith at the last position to fully utilize the Life Leech ability which would make them more durable as the battle progresses.

ROUND 1

 "image.png"

At the end of Round 1 my Carrion Shade was defeated at the same time the opponent's Chaos Agent was also defeated. My Life Sapper survive the damage dealt by the Pelacor Bandit while my Venari Bonesmith starts to gain some bonus health.

ROUND 2

 "image.png"

At the end of Round 2 my Battering Ram was defeated at the same time the opponent's Ice Pixie was defeated as well. The battering ram did it's job as a frontline to avoid the sneak attack from the Pelacor Bandit as well as the opportunity attack from the Feasting Seaweed.

ROUND 3

 "image.png"

At the end of Round 3 my Creeping Ooze was defeated as well as the opponent's Pelacor Bandit. By this time my Venari Bonesmith is now very durable with 6 Health while my Life Sapper has 4 Health. The opponent only has Feasting Seaweed with one health which guarantees me this victory.

Round 4

 "image.png"

At the end of Round 4 the opponent's Feasting Seaweed is defeated and the remaining opponent is Albatross which does not deal any damage at all. My victory is finally secured after the Round 5 is finished.

The ruleset for this battle is very suitable for low health cards such as Life Sapper and for other monsters I used for this match. I didn't expect that my opponent would also used low health monster for their lineup. There are also other ruleset which benefits the Life Sapper a lot and as I continue to play this game I hope that I can build my deck slowly so I can reach higher leagues.
