Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge - AIMLESS

image.png

Hello Splinterlands Community, their is a new weekly challenge that is quite interesting as it gives flexibility to the players. This challenge is called "Battle Mage Secret" wherein it will test the player's skill as they will showcase their battles for a specific ruleset. For this week the challenge is to show the unpredictability of Aimless as it affects all monsters in the battlefield.

Ruleset: AIMLESS

image.png

The featured ruleset for this week is Aimless. This ruleset gives all the monsters in the battlefield the Scattershot ability at the start of the match. The Scattershot ability causes the monster to attack random enemy monster every round and this ability is also not affected by the Taunt or Camouflage ability. It is noticeable on ranged and magic dealing monsters as they are capable of dealing damage to opponents while not being placed in the first position. Those monsters usually target the enemy monster in the first position unless they have the snipe, opportunity or in this case the Scattershot ability. The Scattershot ability has some interesting effect on the match as the unpredictability on the attack of the monsters can give your team either the advantage or disadvantage each round as it would depend on the enemy units that your team targeted if it is the right one or not. Nevertheless, this ruleset requires some careful preparations as the unpredictability of the Scattershot ability is not measurable and any monster on your team could be the target each round.

My Battle

image.png

This is the ranked battle I want to share where I decide to use a ranged damage team composition to take down the enemy team with the help as well from the Aimless ruleset. If you're interested on the outcome of this match, you can watch the whole match by clicking the battle link below.

My Lineup

Summoner: General Sloan

image.png

I used General Sloan as my summoner for this battle. It is a life summoner that increases the ranged damage of all my units at the start of the match. The team benefits from the ranged damage buff specifically my Venari Crystalsmith, Pelacor Arbalest and Prismotologist. Since I used a leveled up summoner, I was able to deploy upgraded cards on my team which is very useful in this match.

Monster 1 : Chaos Knight

image.png

I placed my Chaos Knight at the first position on this match. It is a very durable unit that deals a decent amount of melee damage to the enemies. It has the Shield ability which reduces the melee and ranged damage it would receive from the enemy team. That ability is very useful in this match as the enemy team uses melee and ranged damage monsters.

Monster 2 : Vulguine

image.png

I also used my gold foil Vulguine in this battle. It also deals melee damage to the enemies but does not have a good amount of health. This unit has the Scavenger ability which makes this unit gain health everytime a monster was taken down in the battlefield. This ability increases the durability of this unit as the match progresses.

Monster 3 : Time Mage

image.png

I also used my Time Mage in this battle. It deals magic damage to the enemy team and it has a good amount of speed. This unit has the slow ability in which reduces the speed of all enemy units at the start of the match. It is very useful in this match as it gives my team the edge to strike early each round which could make a difference for the outcome of the match.

Monster 4 : Venari Crystalsmith

image.png

I also used my Venari Crystalsmith in this battle. It deals ranged damage to the enemies and it benefits from the ranged damage buff from my summoner. This unit has the tank heal ability which restores some health on the monster that is currently in the first position. It isis very helpful in this match as it gives sustainability to the Chaos Knight which is the monster I placed in the first position.

Monster 5 : Pelacor Arbalest

image.png

I also used my Pelacor Arbalest as one of the main source of damage in this battle. It also deals ranged damage to the enemy team and it has a great ability which is Double Strike. That ability allows this monster to deal ranged damage twice to a single unit or into two different units which depends if the first target unit was taken down. The ranged damage buff from my summoner further strengthens the firepower of this unit.

Monster 6 : Prismologist

image.png

Lastly I placed my Prismologist in the last position. It also deals ranged damage to the enemies just like Venari Crystalsmith and Pelacor Arbalest and has an armor. It has the Blast ability which deals additional damage to the units that is adjacent to the target monster. The Scattershot ability can be beneficial for this unit as it can deal damage to the monster that is placed in the middle of team where the Blast ability can be maximized.

ROUND 1

image.png

During the first round my team was able to take down the opponent's Uraeus and Serpentine Spy which gives me a number advantage as the match progresses. My Vulguine gain some health with the effects of the Scavenger ability which is also the reason it was able to survive in this round. My Chaos Knight was able to withstand the damage it received from the enemy team with the help of its Shield ability. The Scattershot ability from Prismologist works very well as it targets the right unit and the Blast ability was able to took down the Serpentine Spy.

ROUND 2

image.png

During the second round my team was able to take down the opponent's Fineas Rage while my Pelacor Arbalest was defeated by the Lava Launcher. The tank heal ability from Venari Crystalsmith is useful in this round as it restores some health to my Chaos Knight. Even though my Pelacor Arbalest was taken down in this round, I still have great damage dealers left in my team which would help me in the future rounds.

ROUND 3

image.png

During the third round my team was able to take down the opponent's Antoid Platoon while my team does not have any casualties in this round. The tank healing from Venari Crystalsmith is massive as my Chaos Knight was able to withstand the damage from enemy team through 3 rounds and was still able to survive at this point also with the help of its Shield Ability. The opponent remaining monster is only a hit away before being taken down which would happen in the next round.

ROUND 4

image.png

During the fourth and final round my team was able to take down the remaining enemy units. The Venari Crystalsmith was able to restore some health on my Chaos Knight as well as dealing the killing blow to the Lava Launcher which secures me this victory. Overall, I only lose a single unit in this battle which happened because of the Scattershot ability from the Aimless ruleset.
