Splinterlands Share your Battle Weekly Challenge - PRISMOLOGIST

image.png

Hello Splinterlands Community, the challenge for this week is to snipe down the enemy team using the massive ranged damage coming from Prismologist. It is a powerful ranged monster from the Chaos Legion set that everyone should try out.

About Prismologist

Prismologist is an epic life unit that deals ranged damage to the enemies and also belongs to the Chaos Legion set. The current lowest price for a regular foil card is at $0.863 while the gold foil card is currently listed at $5.180 on the marketplace as of this writing. It is not relatively cheaper compared to other epic cards in the Chaos Legion set but it is worth to invest on this card because of the damage it can deal in the battlefield.

The figure above shows the complete statistics of Prismologist from Level 1 up to Level 6. This card is an epic unit that only requires 46 cards to reach its maximum level which is still not an easy task considering the price of this card. Since this unit belongs to the Chaos Legion set, there are multiple ways to collect this card such as buying it on marketplace or by opening a Chaos Legion Pack that is still available in the game. Based on the figure above, I can say that upgrading this card to Level 4 would be great to unlock its second ability which is Forcefield. That ability causes this card to receive only 1 damage whenever an opponent hits this card that has 5 or more damage. It is very useful against powerful opponents that has a massive amount of damage that can destroy their target in one hit. It also increases the ranged damage of this unit which is great in battle as well as boosts the damage from the Blast ability on the enemies.

My Battle

image.png

This is the ranked battle that I want to share where I used my Prismologist together with other ranged life and neutral monsters to take down the enemy team. If you're interested on the outcome of this match you can watch it by clicking the link below.

The Ruleset

Heavy Hitters

image.png

There are two rulesets present in the match the first one is Heavy Hitters. This ruleset gives all the monsters in the battle field the Knock Out ability. That ability causes the monster to deal double damage against an enemy that is stunned. It can only be possible if there is a monster in the team that has the stun ability. I don't have any monster on my team that has the stun ability which makes this ruleset not effective for me.

Lost Magic

image.png

The other ruleset in this match is Lost Magic, it does not allow magic damage monsters to be used in this battle. This makes melee monsters, ranged monsters and non-damage monsters only usable for this battle. For this battle I decided to go with ranged monster lineup using General Sloan as my summoner while my opponent goes with a combination of melee and ranged monster and using Tarsa as the summoner.

My Lineup

Summoner: General Sloan

image.png

I used General Sloan as my summoner for this battle, it gives +1 ranged damage to all my units at the start of the match. The ranged damage buff from this summoner is beneficial to all the ranged monsters that I used for this battle especially the ones that has powerful abilities which are Pelacor Arbalest and Prismologist.

Monster 1 : Hero of Beyond

image.png

I placed Hero of Beyond in the first position. It is ranged monster that has the Close Range ability which makes this card capable of dealing ranged damage to opponents despite being placed in the first position. It also has a great amount of health as well as an armor that makes this card durable and plausible to be placed in the first position.

Monster 2 : Gargoya Devil

image.png

I also used my gold foil Gargoya Devil for this battle. It also has the Close Range ability just like Hero of Beyond as well as an armor, however this card does not have a good amount of health which makes this card still vulnerable when placed in the first position. It also has the flying ability which may come handy on certain conditions in the game.

Monster 3 : Prismologist

image.png

I also used my Prismologist in this battle. It deals a massive ranged damage to the enemies that is enhanced by the ranged damage buff coming from my summoner. It has the blast ability which causes additional damage to the monster that is adjacent to the target monster. It also has a decent amount of health and an armor which makes gives this card some durability in the battle.

Monster 4 : Pelacor Arbalest

image.png

I also used my Pelacor Arbalest for this battle. It also deals ranged damage to the enemy team and it has the double strike ability. That ability causes this monster to strike twice each round which makes this card capable of dealing 6 damage to a single unit with the ranged buff from my summoner and also capable of taking down 2 monsters on a single turn. It makes this card the biggest ranged damage dealer on my team which is why it must be placed carefully.

Monster 5 : Supply Runner

image.png

I also used my Supply Runner in this battle. It also deals ranged damage to the enemies and it does not have any abilities besides the Knock Out ability which comes from the Heavy Hitters ruleset. It also has a decent amount of health that makes this monster more durable compared to other ranged monsters that I used in this battle.

Monster 6 : Venari Crystalsmith

image.png

Lastly I placed my Venari Crystalsmith in the last position. It is also a ranged monster that deals a decent amount of ranged damage and has the tank heal ability. That ability restores some health on the monster that is currently in the first position each round. It gives Hero of Beyond some sustainability every round so that it can continuously deal ranged damage to the enemy team.

ROUND 1

image.png

On the first round my team was able to take down the opponent's Living Lava which is very tough to take down because of its durability as well as the opponent's Radiated Brute. My team does not suffer any casualties but my Venari Crystalsmith and Gargoya Devil barely survives this round and there is a chance that they might be taken down on the next rounds.

ROUND 2

image.png

The second round was a total slaughter, my team manage to take down 3 opponents which are Mantoid, Fire Elemental and Tenyii Striker. My Gargoya Devil was also taken down this round while my Venari Crystalsmith survives this round who also plays a big role in healing my Hero of Beyond that absorbs most of the damage coming from the enemy team.

ROUND 3

image.png

During the third round and final round my team was able to defeat the last opponent which is Mantoid. Since that unit is a ranged monster, it would not be able to deal damage at all because it is placed in the first position. It was my Prismologist who deals the killing blow to the Mantoid which ends this battle and secures me this victory.

 " "image.png""

Prismologist is a great ranged damage card that can be used in ranked battles. It has a good amount of health plus an armor that increases its durability, in addition to that, it has a powerful ability which is Blast ability that deals additional damage to the adjacent units of the targeted monster. For this battle I was able to secure my victory using ranged damage monsters completely on my team. The ranged damage buff from General Sloan is valuable in the match since everyone on my team benefits from that buff and since it is a leveled up summoner, I was able to use my upgraded units as well. The Blast ability from Prismologist was very useful in this battle where it was able to deal additional damage to the enemies which makes them more vulnerable as the match progresses. Prismologist pairs very well with General Sloan because it compliments the buff that the summoner gives and Prismologist works well with other ranged monsters in the life element. There are still other team compositions in the game where Prismologist fits very well and I'll try to share it on my future posts.
