Hearthvale Dev Log #5 β Confirmation System, Kitchen Update & Economy Changes
Hello everyone! ππΏ
Welcome back to another development update for Hearthvale.
This session focused on UI improvements, new progression content, cooking systems, and economy adjustments to prepare the game for future combat and dungeon features.
β Confirmation Modals Added
Major actions in the game now use confirmation modals instead of relying on default notification prompts.
This system is now connected directly to the gameβs notification flow, replacing the temporary Sonner confirmation approach.
Actions that now use confirmation modals
- Purchasing items
- Crafting
- Using items
- Dropping items
This improves:
- Player clarity
- Action safety
- UI consistency
- Overall game feel

π³ Kitchen System Added
Cooking has officially been added to the game!
Players can now access the Kitchen to craft food using harvested crops.
Kitchen Unlock
- The Kitchen unlocks at Level 3
- This change came with an adjustment to Map 2 progression
- Previously unlocked at Level 5, now available earlier at Level 3
This gives new players:
- Faster access to progression systems
- More ways to use their harvested crops
- Earlier exposure to crafting mechanics

πΊοΈ Map Progression Adjustment
Map progression has been updated to better match the new cooking system.
Map 2 Changes
Now unlocks at Level 3 (previously Level 5)
Will contain:
- A dungeon entrance
- Resource nodes
- Equipment farming opportunities
This map will serve as the transition point from farming into combat and equipment progression.
π° Economy Adjustment
The gameβs selling prices have been rebalanced.
New Selling Rule
- Crop selling price is now 1.5Γ the seed price
This change:
- Simplifies balancing
- Keeps crop values predictable
- Helps stabilize the in-game economy
Further price adjustments and optimizations will be done in future updates.
β¨ Character Notification Floaters
A new notification floater system has been added.
Now, when the player gathers or harvests resources, floating notifications appear near the character, showing what was gained.
This adds:
- Better visual feedback
- More satisfying interactions
- Clearer reward communication
