Hearthvale Dev Log #7 — Dungeon System, Crafting Expansion & House Progression

⚔️ Hearthvale Dev Log #7 — Dungeon System, Crafting Expansion & House Progression
Hello everyone! 🌿
Welcome back to another Hearthvale development update!
This dev log introduces some of the biggest gameplay changes so far, including the dungeon system, craftable equipment, and a new progression structure centered around the House.
🏠 Progression Moved to the House System
Player progression is now fully integrated into the House system.
The House now acts as the central hub where players:
- Equip and unequip gear
- View stats
- Manage progression
- Prepare for dungeon runs
This change makes progression more organized and gives players a clear “home base” for their character development.

⚔️ Equipment System Expanded
Players can now:
- Equip and unequip items freely
- Craft Apprentice-tier equipment
- Use gear to improve their stats for dungeon runs
This marks the beginning of the core gear progression loop:
Craft → Equip → Hunt → Gather → Upgrade
🛠️ Crafting System for Materials & Equipment
Crafting has been expanded beyond basic items.
Players can now:
- Craft materials
- Craft Apprentice equipment
- Use dungeon drops as crafting ingredients
This creates a self-sustaining gameplay loop between gathering, crafting, and selling.

🗡️ Dungeon System Now Playable
The first version of the dungeon system is now live!
How Dungeons Work
Entering a dungeon consumes 20 Energy
Players fight monsters inside the dungeon
Defeating monsters grants:
- Materials
- Equipment drops
This introduces the game’s core combat and farming system, which will later connect to:
- Equipment enhancement
- Higher-tier gear
- Advanced dungeons

💰 Selling Materials and Equipment
Loot from dungeons is now useful beyond crafting.
Players can now:
- Sell gathered materials
- Sell equipment drops
- Earn currency through dungeon farming
This adds an economic loop to the game:
Hunt → Loot → Sell or Craft → Upgrade

🗺️ Map System Refactored
The world map has been reworked into smaller, modular sections instead of one large map.
Benefits of the New Map Structure
- Easier to expand new areas
- Faster development of new zones
- Better performance and organization
This change will help support:
- Future dungeons
- New regions
- Special event areas

🔧 Next Development Goals
Upcoming development will focus on:
- New dungeon types and monsters
- Balance adjustments
- UI and visual polish
- Backend refactors
- Coin deposit and withdrawal system
These changes will strengthen both the gameplay experience and the in-game economy.
