Hello Beautiful people! Hope your Friday is going well!

Today, I bring to you Centaur as part of the @splinterlands, weekly #play2earn share your battle challenge.

According to Splinterlands lore, "The Centaurs of Anumün can skewer a squirrel from further than a human eye can see. Their arrows are thick, their bows are long, and they are extremely territorial. In close combat, they require no weapons, having the fury of a man and the strength of a horse."

Centaur is a common neutral monster from the Alpha/Beta series.

At level 1, it has a mana count of 4 with +4 health, +1 range,+3 speed, with snipe ability, targeting enemy monsters with ranged, magic, or no attack that are not in the fist postiong.

Show me the Stats

At level one Centaur, is a very useful and versatile card as it brings speed and sniping abilities to the table. As you level up to level 4 you get and extra range attack and its speed and health increase by a unit of one. At max level it has plus 3 range and super speed at plus 6.

In conclusion this card is very useful at any level and becomes even more powerful as you level it up. The fact that it is a neutral monster, make it a very common card to use. You can never go wrong with its sniping ability making it a good card to use as a bookend. If lucky enough it might even dodge a couple sneak attacks, allowing it to continue sniping the opponents weak targets. This card is HIGHLY recommended.

Battle and Lineup

The Battle was a mana cap of 26 with plus 2 armor. With that said below is the lineup I went with.

1. DJINN CHWALA:

Since we had plus 2 armor and I noticed my opponent liked to use Mylor as a summoner I went with Djin Chwala as my tank to help combat thorns.

Djinn also has thorns and plus 6 shield making it a formidablle tank when lined up against Mylor. The additional armor from the battle rule set also made it a good option. I needed something to survive Mylors thorn attack.

2. KELP INITIATE:

Since it was a medium mana rule set I went with Kelp iniate as a cheap meat shield. Should my opponent choose to use Mylor as their summoner, Kelp would give me extra time for my backline to attack.

3. SCAVO HIRELING:

This is one of the new Chaos Legion cards. It is a neutral monster with the repair ability at a mana cost of 3. When used properly this card can be very useful.

4. MERDAALI GUARDIAN:

Another, new Chaos Legion card. This card has heal with a mana cost of 3. It is part of the water deck. Also very useful when used properly.

5. ICE PIXIE:

Pixie is a very useful and well used card. As it brings a magic attack for the cost of 2 mana. It becomes even more valuable when it dodges attacks as it is relatively fast and has the flying ability.

6. CENTAUR:

Lastly Centaur, not much to say, just that it's a great card to put in last as it has snipe and has enough speed to dodge sneak attacks.

My adversary went with Earth splinter summoner Mylor, Kron and couple new Chaos Legion cards such as Mycelic Infantry.

Questions and Answers

Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

My strategy was working for the first couple rounds as my tank heal, and repair came in handy. Especially when leveraged with the extra armor from the rule set combined with Djinn as my tank. However, my opponents fire power was too much to overcome as they had Kron whose +3 magic and self heal was too overpowering. But for a couple of rounds I had them biting their nails.

Do I like Centaur Why or why not?

I love Centaur. It is a very useful card, as it has sniping ability and it is a neutral monster. Now I can see why it is a popular card. As you level up its plus 2 range make it even more powerful.

This card is certainly one worth using and leveling up. Making it a much better card than some of the previous battle challenge cards. I mean if you had to choose between Animated Corpse or Centaur, its a no brainer lol.
