Good morning, good evening wherever you are!

It's @higherlow here and today we are bringing you a brawl report from my latest campaign as part of #splinterlands, #play2earn, social media challenge.

I am a member of #hivepizza Deep Dish guild. It's a lot of fun. We are making headway, upgrading our buildings, and some day we look forward to competing with the best.

In case you were wondering what brawls are below I will provide our results, and review my battles with you so you can get a better understanding of how brawls work.

It's not much different than day to day battles. The only difference are you are a member of a guild, the rule sets are slightly different, and you can use Gladiator cards.

RESULTS

As a team we had a successful campaign and came in third place out of ten teams total. Seems like when we are on we are usually in third place.

Soon hopefully we will start making a run at first place. We just need to continue stacking gladiator cards, and leveling up our buildings. In no time we will be dishing out deep dishings.

On a personal level I had an atrocious campaign. I had a bad run where I couldn't use my Gladiator cards. And when I did I made crucial mistakes with positioning. This week was just not my week.

Not sure what it was. I started playing poker again. Maybe my mental neurons got rewired which affected my decision making. Not much thinking when most of the time you are folding cards. Who knows lol.

MY BATTLES

Battle 1

For this battle I had a lot of issues deciding on what lineup to choose. I was so used to playing life splinter that when the rule set said no life splinter my mind went blank.

I finally went with Earth splinter knowing that out of the few gladiator cards I did have, a few were Earth.

However, after finally figuring out my splinter, I had already lost precious time on the time clock. Knowing blast was part of the rule set I wanted to get a high health Monster in position two. Rushing to decide and the time clock running out, in haste I put Palidon Rakk in position two since he had +13 health.

This turned out to be a terrible decision. Although he had high health I could not attack, and his blood lust ability went to waste. As a result, my opponent completely obliterated me. I had zero chance.

Man position, position, position. Still kicking myself on this one.

Battle 2

Another bad loss. Once again being unable to use Life Splinter, I had trouble deciding on what line up to use. As the time clock quickly ran down in haste I went with Death splinter.

My lineup looked odd because in haste I tried to go with a strong sneak attack while I sought protection from the front and back. Unfortunately this strategy was terrible and quickly backfired.

My opponent completely destroyed me. It didn't help that they also had a Gladiator and I did not.

That's ok next time I'll be able to decide on a better line up. I'll use this one as a learning experience.

Battle 3

For this battle I ran with Peakrider who is a legendary summoner with plus three shield and minus one range.

I went with a heavy melee attack, using inspire from Silver Shield Knight combined with sneak. To top it off I put Marisol for extra reinforcements.

My lineup looked formidable and then I got introduced to a nasty nasty card, Quora Towershead. This beast of a card has plus 2 magic, and plus 2 melee. Needless to say, my opponent completely decimated me. That card was simply too overpowering.

Battle 4

Finally a win. This one was nice, as I was able to leverage the few strengths I did have.

Of course I went with Peakrider as my summoner. And although Marisol, has the reach ability I put her in as my tank because of her speed and bloodlust.

This combination was too strong and I quickly won my battle.

If you want to see these two cards in action check out a video of the battle below.

SUMMARY

This was fun. I hope you enjoyed my brawl report.

I hope you a learned a thing or two about brawls. As you can see Gladiators are very important. In order to purchase gladiator cards, you earn merits from each fray. In this case since our team came in third we won 500 or so merits. Soon I'll be able to level up my deck, and maybe next time I'll have better results!
